I think everyone feels comfort from reading stories on here and then thinking ' i'm not the only one ' but does anyone else find themselves wanting people to lose or not win any money on programmes like the chase and deal or no deal? or being jealous when you hear someone has had a big win betting or on the lottery etc?
Personally I think its better to look after your own situation and not waste positive energy on negative things.
Hi,
You can't help how you feel.
However, people are dying every second of the day all over the world. Other's are having a horrible time starving and they have nasty deceases, arms and legs blown off etc.
I just thank God I'm not one of those unlucky b*st**ds
Sort of gets it all in perspective.
Stevenj,
Last post should have read nasty diseases.
I knew I'd spelled it wrongly as soon as I clicked save.
Cheers
Im the opposite I want good things for other people so that not everyone is cursed by this illness
Rather see folk beating the bookies etc than seeing the b&*stards taking folks money.

Beating them in the short term yes, a big win is the start of about 70% of peoples gambling problems I think, not many people walk away
I'm in that 70% unfortunately!
Hi StevenJ,
I am familiar with that feeling - If you have recently made the decision to stop gambling, you are probably trying to prove to yourself that you have made the right decision. As cruel as it may sound, seeing somebody else lose could be seen as you looking in to your own past and taking pleasure in you no longer being that "Loser".
Of course we all know that you have made the correct decision whether somebody else wins or loses, but seeing someone else win could cause jealousy and relapse.
