Hey all as you know have been in quite a dark place for the last few months.
Been coping with it by cutting, gambling and sleeping.
But finally learning to cope better and trying to heal from the past.
Have self exclusion in place so can not gamble, and yesterday managed to muster the strength to throw the razor away.
Iam focusing on study and work, also listening to audio books is really relaxing me.
Going to use some CBT methods to calm dark thoughts and also change my coping mechanism to more healthy ways.
So i just wanted to say a huge huge thanks to all of you for firstly reading my long rants, and secondly and most importantly for all your kind words and support, ty ty so much for everything.
Rob
Hello rob27,
It is good that you have found the forum helpful, and that you intend to take good care of your health and well being.
As you've mentioned recently cutting, please seek medical attention for any injuries. Your GP can help you to access treatment like Cognitive Behavioural Therapy to help you manage your feelings, thoughts and behaviours, so you have more support to improve your experience.

Hai Rob, im going to add to forum Admin. CBT seems to be the in thing...and I really don't know much about it. But in my uneducated head, iv'e compared it with gloss without the undercoat. I don't know what avenues you've checked out, but something I found very reasonable in price and good for me is what ' Mind ' charity has to offer. Truthfully for me, I couldn't face group therapy, but wouldn't knock it. But they can either offer or advise on ACT or pychodynamics, or other type therapy. Truthfully Rob, stuff like that, use to give me the sh.its but then realised, it's just like having a cool chat, but the big difference is that your doing the talking and there doing the steering. With 'Mind' I personally found the empathy as there new into it or experienced it and its not about making money...
Affected by gambling?
