Sam - great to hear you're cruising down Recovery Road; keep in that middle lane heading straight ahead!

Bal - thanks for checking in, another day hoovered up

M - rest assured I'll keep the jokes of the lowest groaning quality (as KP's joke did too!!!)

Rhoda - we're all with you at this very emotional time 🙂 keep strong; you're doing great - all round!

Sbb - great post, and wonderful that the mists are starting to clear and amazing, isn't it, how everything starts to make sense the more you're GF. Brilliant to see your life is on a positive trajectory!

dsh - Good man. Can football be enjoyable without a punt? Actually... whisper it quietly, YES. You can actually ENJOY the game for what it is; an exciting game of skill, tactics and atmosphere. Without betting, you learn more about the beautiful game, without the distracting one-dimensional soulless punt getting in the way.

KP - great news about your partner. Fantastic!!! Now, you've got to do the easy bit - keep her 🙂 That means GF, forever. It really is as straightforward as that. Already you're a more understanding, strong, compassionate partner. She likes that. Just keep it going!

GOOD NEWS - A payrise all round!

Gambling is an expensive, corrosive, business. We are on day 5. Already, at least 4 days gambling free. If you gambled an average of £10 a day, that's £70 a week, over the year that translates as £3,500. That's your annual payrise for 2017 - NET of any taxes and NI!

In truth, many of us will have spent (possible much) more than this sum. Just work out your weekly spend and multiply it by 52. That's the annual NET payrise you have awarded yourself! You may have debts; however, your payrise should go a long way towards servicing them.

We're choosing life, over misery. The financial benefits are great, too!

Isn't it astonishing, when the facts are laid bare like this, just how s--- gambling really is? But let's not dwell; it's about today, and tomorrow!

WCAWW!

Another way of looking at the money saved is that the group collectively has kept a (probably conservative) figure of around £12.5K out of the bookies' greedy hands. That's in just a few days. Going to be a stonking total by 100 :)))

Sorry for the lack of posting. Busy weekend! Completed day 8 today. In the pub last night watching the football and all my mates were betting. Didn't have any urge whatsoever just watched them lose their money. Happy days!

Yayyyy rogerson has returned!!! Great to see you, we were a bit worried for you...

Checking in Day 11 and safe & sound!

Wind is howling outside and it's piddling down & freezing cold, I'm cosy on my Sofa, heating on, Christmas tree lights twinkling and settling in front of a movie.....I have a lot to be thankful for!

Stay safe folks! We CAN and We WILL!

HI i have just stumbled upon your group effort and think it is a great idea. I may be too late to join, but I have been gamble free for 12 days. I was tempted last night after watching my team Liverpool beat Everton with a last minute goal.It made me realise that the feeling of euphoria or generally feeling up-beat is a trigger for me, but I easily resisted. Maybe I should change my allegiance to Manchester United as it wouldn't happen very often that i would experience the highs of my team winning a game. Keep going everyone!
