Collective days between us - 3011

*** ROLLCALL OF SUCCESS *** - Paulgam, congratulations on reaching 50 days GF yesterday! (Sorry I missed you yesterday; and certainly will NOT miss your 100!)

Good evening! It's Sunday night, and I hope you're all relaxed and chilled out ready for the week ahead. And somehow different because today - and tomorrow, right? - we're gamble free. Now, looking ahead to payday, which for many of us is near the end or at the end of the month - will present some of us with a new challenge. A bit of money in our pockets. Let's just start to think ahead to how we can make February a fantastic GF month and how any spare cash can be put to good use, and not wasted. We're still in January, of course, and being GF one day at a time, but it doesn't hurt to think ahead. Remember - if you think you'll be 100 days GF, you will be 100 days GF. It's true.

Thank you everyone for checking in, either here or elsewhere, and, I am sad to say, I have had to 'rest' three of us from the group as I have not heard a peep, via updates, or their dairies, for quite a while. Rogerson, DrewF and klamm, we wish you well and you are welcome back, just drop us a line.

However, to restore the 'ying and yang' we welcome a new member, panders, currently on GF Day 3. Great to have you on board, and let's see if you've got what it takes! Welcome to our friendly group, panders!

Sbb - enjoyed your post as always, and delighted you are back to full health.

Katiecoo - really glad you are treating imaginary wins as just that. GF is real, gambling is fantasy but with real money, a deadly combination as we have all found out to our cost.

M (SC) - we are all with you and the support you've been getting, and you have been giving to others is the testament to the team spirit we have in our group, and the wider Gamcare community. Keep strong and be true to yourself, not beholden to others!

JayD - you've made the point: not a single penny wasted. Just wait till you have cash again, and GF too - a perfect combination. Roll on February!

Jim, Wardle, Markman, LHN, fiddlesticks, Gm88, Moorey - thank you all for checking in. Doing great... building up that resolve nicely.

*** JOKE OF THE DAY ***

A woman noticed her husband standing on the bathroom scale, sucking in his stomach. “Ha! That’s not going to help,” she said.

“Sure, it does,” he said. “It’s the only way I can see the numbers!"

WCAWW

P.S. Tomorrow's update will be late or first thing Tuesday - I have my Gamcare counselling on Mondays.

GF yesterday and looking forward to the last few days of my forties as much as is possible in the given circumstances.

***ROLLCALL OF SUCCESS ***

You might be last on our rollcall, Wardal, but tonight you're first in our eyes, having hit the big 50 days GF! Enjoy the vino, and the pampering, nice hot bath and our hearty congratulations 🙂 !

Good evening everyone and, as always, thank you for checking in!

Did you know that today is meant to be the most miserable day of the year? Blue Monday, they call it. But when you're GF, it isn't actually; it's simply another day - gambling free. Another day without guilt. Another day without having to act furtively, or lying. It's a day of pride. It's a another day where we put another building block in place. Another day of gaining further self-respect. We COUNT. We MATTER.

Blue Monday? Paah. Today is, or has been, the first day of the rest of our lives! And we have another one, just the same, tomorrow.

Yes. We may be skint.

Yes. This month seems like it's lasting forever...

But - let's look at what we *have* got. And what we've gained. For example - we are all part of an exclusive group - the 100 day challenge group.

It's fascinating, isn't it - we are totally anonymous yet are getting to know each other really well. What price can you put on the friendships that are developing here? Things are looking up, everyone. Blue Monday has just been officially booted into the bin!

*** JOKE OF THE DAY ***

A judge tells the defendant, “You’re charged with attacking your boss with a hammer.”

“You idiot!” yells a voice from
the back of the courtroom.

“You’re also charged with attacking a barman with a hammer,”
says the judge.

“Prat!!!” bellows the same man.

“Sir,” says the judge, “one more outburst, and I’ll charge you with contempt.”

“I’m sorry, Your Honour,” says the man. “But I’ve been this j**k’s neighbour for ten years, and every time I asked to borrow a hammer, he said he didn’t have one!”

WCAWW - remember, if you think you will hit 100 days on this challenge - then you will hit 100 days on this challenge. A proven psychological fact.

P.S. Really liking your motivation Moorey - really want to see you hit the big 100 OK - you know it matters 🙂

Checking in on Day 17. Trying to find little pick-me-ups everyday as been feeling a little emotional. I do struggle with anxiety and depression and have seeked help on this. All is normally well but I think the stress of last week with things going on in my family has thrown everything out a little. My little dog had a mini stroke yesterday so that made me upset. He's ok, bless him, just on tablets and we're keeping a close eye on him.

Sorry for the long essay. I felt like today I needed to let a few things out and what better place to do it than here where I know people are listening and best of all, you guys don't personally know me. X
