Mate, once you realise that you are the only thing that is stopping you having the life you desire and that you are the only solution - You just have to accept responsibility and deal with it. Dream about your goals, hopes and desires they are all there - all you have to do is stick to your bloody-minded plan and every morning promise yourself, your family and friends that today you are not going to gamble.

Keep up the good work

Sbb

Hi Mixer, I'm sorry to inform you that I've had a stinking night, losing £150 on the football.

I'm devastated, financially it's not hurt me too badly, but I'm so gutted to have lost my 29 day streak.

I guess there's nothing more to do now other than to start again and to completely block and self exclude myself from all the sites I've been using.

I may also take your earlier advice about sorting out some counselling this week....

After every setback, I try to look at the positives, and they are that my first attempt was 10 days and my second attempt was 29 days....

It's a steep learning curve and one that I'll definitely learn from.

FYI, I hated every minute of tonight from the moment I placed that bet. That's why I'm so annoyed with myself!

Sorry again, but determined to come back even stronger.

Good luck to everyone still going strong.

Hi Moorey and thank you for your honesty. I've been out today and can understand the temptation of a payday combined with 7 premier league matches.. we live in a cynical world and don't the gambling operators know it.

I would look at things this way. You did 10 days the first time, then 29. You are improving exponentially. It means, next time, you will stop for 88 days. That is your new target. In fact, why not round it up to 100?

You know the harsh reality that football, or any betting, is too random (Who'd've thought, a penalty missed like that, or whatever your match was ...?). Your target is 100 days, Moorey.

P.S. Rollcall will happen a bit later. Plus a classic joke of the day. Standby!

Thank you, everyone, for checking in as always, and thank you, too, for your kind messages which are very much appreciated. I never forget we are a team, and what a team we are; the vibe is good and we are really going for this. Recovering can be a good thing and should be a good thing! And whether we have a bit of extra cash right now, or not, let's enjoy life free of the shackles of the dull headache that is gambling.

Moorey, thank you for your honesty tonight. I hope you have extra resolve this time, my friend. Even football betting is too random with the odds stacked against. You've been twice bitten, make it three times shy 🙂

We don't have to gamble, you know. Seriously, really - do you want to? There is so much more out there, seriously. I know life gets a bit boring at times, but, then again, being bored is a state of mind. And an excuse to waste time and money on expensive pursuits such as gambling. I was in the pub earlier tonight, and someone there won £400 on a bet! (Mind you, he did admit he lost £600 the night before...) Regardless, what would I do with the money, if I hadn't bet it. Which I wouldn't. I know, I'd book 3 nights of winter sun in Gibraltar, from Gatwick, for £320 including flights and hotel (for 2!), in a months time. The £80 left will cover food and booze. Yep, goto www.mygibraltar.co.uk for the proof. (I have been many times; great place. A bit of the UK but with Spanish weather... delightful.) I'm not on commssion and have no relationship to the site but do you see what I mean? There are really interesting opportunities everywhere you look... you've just got to look. Being GF opens so many doors than 'boring' gambling. Because gambling is boring, really. When you think about it. Why not see the world... it's cheaper than you think. As I write this, the raining has been pounding down all night... my goodness, even if we're strapped for cash, we can still get away with a bit of imagination...

Welcome, Mick (KO) to our group. Great to have you aboard... and we'll be with you at the 100 day finsh line. Just repeat, and stick to, daily this line: I will not bet today, WHATEVER the provacation! Update regularly, Mick and welcome to our close-knit group. We want to succeed... we wnat YOU to succeed with us .
