Thanks Matt , dw28 and especially deano for being there from the start !! Appreciate the support !!

DE28 as for tips mate I would say get urself the help u need wether it be ga meetings or a counsellor , I went down the counsellor route through break even they were great really helped me and even helped me get back my relationship with my gf ! But other than outside help u just need to have the will power to stop and not give in I would say take up a hobby something that takes up a lot of time or spend time with friends and family (ones who don't gamble or won't talk about it while ur there) ! Also anytime u want to gamble just remember all the bad times u have when u have gambled and lost and hurt loved ones , my main stop thought was my gf , seeing her so hurt stopped me we did break up but I stopped to prove to her I could change ! I hope this helps if u ever need a chat just write on my post I log in most days good luck !

Thanks for the tips, yeah I've been looking at my local Breakeven counselling sessions so I'm thinking about giving that a try, hoping it will help but also will take up time and gives me something to work on. I play football twice a week so that helps but yeah I will try to spend more time with mates and family to take my mind off it all. I am studying with the open university for a business degree so again that takes up many hours a week, but the stress it causes was what was making me gamble at times, maybe a small run in the evenings just to clear my head will help. Again thanks for the advice and will keep you updated on how things go, I will be on here most days as well as started my own thread mainly so it gives me something to do and get stuff off my chest. Congrats again.

Congratulations for the year - for a gambler, a day is an achievement, day by day that builds to a good length of time. Just don't trip up, keep doing the right things that got you to that year and crack on for another
