Hi Feb,
Thank for your words of support much appreciated and I feel better now.
Congrats on 8 weeks consecutive non-gambling days, that is ace.
Have a good week next week x
No probs Wilsy. That's what we are all here for - to support one another.
Well Diary.... Just when I thought yesterday could not get any better - being with my lovely family for lunch and seeing my new great nephew. I got a call from my uncle to ask me if I would like his car!!!! Given that I no longer have a car after 31 years of driving (partly down to gambling) and given that his car has only done 14,000 miles on the clock in 8 years and is in mint condition, I nearly bit his hand off so to speak!!! My Aunt and Uncle would not hear of me giving them anything for it and simply said, that they were just pleased it would help me out!! They are both wonderful people, both in their 80's. Like I have said many times on my diary, I am truly blessed to have such a wonderful and loving and kind family.
So, as from next Saturday, I will have my own wheels once more and refraining from public transport for the foreseeable.
Take care all and have a good week ahead.

WEEK 10.
Thanks girlies for my Birthday wishes.
Well week 10 already since my "moment of madness". How time flies when you are having fun!! My last 5 weekends have been hectic to say the least but all enjoyable. To add to all the celebrations in my family recently, my nephew (and godson) popped the question to his girlfriend last night and totally surprised her with a beautiful Tiffany Diamond ring!! He has such good taste!! ha! I am delighted for them both. How much more excitement can I take??!!
This morning, I received a text from a gambling site offering me £50. I looked at it, thought about it and remembered just how my "moment of madness" resulted from a very similar text message!! I quickly reflected on just how "happy and peaceful" my life is at the moment and what a lovely family I have. Why would I want to spoil any of this? I promptly pressed the DELETE button and thought no more about it. In fact, I came on here and read some diary entries.
When I say I am happy, I still do not have all the things I used to have before gambling took a hold and I know I do not have as much money as I used to or credit. however, I do believe that happiness is not all about money. I do still feel a sense of relief though, when I can continue to go shopping and put my debit card into the card reader to pay for my purchases. Feeling "normal" again feels so good.
Still getting used to having my wheels again. Just this morning, I thought "Oh, I need to go to the service till to get some cash before I go to have my hair cut" I then realised that I could actually drive there instead of having to walk!! That put a smile on my face!!
Take care all and have a gamble free weekend.
Feb - Feeling relaxed and calm on "The Bright Side of the Road".
Thanks again for your support yesterday. As referenced in your last post with regard to those gambling promotions, I fell for one of those free bet things yesterday while on paypal. A big mistake, yes. My moment of madness. All that. I have a immense sense of relief though as it's over and I haven't lost all my money as I used to. I was a silly boy, but this silly boy will continue on with recovery again. 🙂
WEEK 10.
Just wanted to record that I am at peace and feeling calm and it feels good!!
Feb - Feeling "Real" on "The Bright Side of the Road".
