Hi Stephen sorry I’ve not been there for you I feel like I’ve let you down glad you’re back on the road to Recovery Â
scotty??
Many thanks for visiting my diary RochG, Charlieboy and Scotty. Your support and encouragement is greatly appreciated.
Blowing a gale here in Hull but mild and not raining so looking forward to a walk by the riverside shortly.
Wishing you every happiness over the weekend.

I picture you, Stephen as you take in the surroundings, gaze into the horizon as your inner serenity buffers you from any storms or squalls heading your way. You do so with an inner determination and strength, built up one day at a time. No complacency, just real-life fortitude built upon bitter, and good, experience. Because life is always a mix of the two.
I congratulate you, Stephen, on being another day gambling free. And being here; real, no Bu lLCr aP (that'll get past the censors 😉 ).Â
You say it just as it is; just as you are 🙂
Â
Â
Many thanks for those kind words RochG.

Hello Diary.
I have just been reading today's posts on the recovery diaries and am delighted to see everyone in a positive frame of mind.Â
It is good to be determined, hopeful and mindful of our responsibilities and it pleases me that friends are treating themselves with kindness, compassion and respect.
We are all gamcare brothers and sisters arm-in-arm on a journey of recovery.
Love and best wishes to you all.

Spending pennies wisely
Financial worries none
Enjoying life immenselyÂ
Now the gambling days are gone.
Â
Aum ?
The best bit of this lovely little ditty is the very last word.
Gone.
Now the gambling days are *gone*. Not going. Not gone for now.Â
Gone.
For today, your gambling days are gone Stephen. Tomorrow you will be in a position to revisit your commitment.
I will be there with you, my friend.
Wishing you an enjoyable Sunday ?
Hi Aum
Well done on 213+ days of being gamble free, that is a massive achievement. Really love your posts, the little poems and ditties make me smile, much needed in our world at present!
Wishing you continued success on your journey.

PS - Do you still go and feed the ducks?!
Â
Many thanks for visiting my diary:
RochG ... Great to see you progressing well in your own recovery and respect for the support and encouragement you give to your fellow travellers.
Stevenh60 ... Your journey of recovery sends out a strong message that we can overcome the urges to gamble. I see you are approaching 1000 days gamble and that is wonderful.
Thank you for enquiring after the ducks. I throw them oats every day which they devour with great relish before it sinks. They make me smile, gobbling it up like little vacuum cleaners ???. They have really helped me keep fit during the lockdown because I would have stayed in on wet and windy days but going to feed the ducks gave me a new lease of life and I would than go wander by the riverside for a few hours.
Â
Aum ?
Just been mulling over my recovery and making plans.Â
Enjoying being gamble-free though there are a few things about my life that can be improved upon.
Suppose life will never be perfect but I can and will slowly make improvements.
Â
Some days may be sad ? see me moan and a groan
But here with gamcare friends I don't need to feel alone
And if I feel tormented by thoughts that come my way
I know that every tomorrow can be a brighter day
Â
Love and best wishes to everyone on the diaries.
Â
We are gamcare brothers and sisters walking side by side.
We are stronger than we give ourselves credit for.
We are proud, resilient and we will not give in.

Another gem of a poem Stephen 🙂
Life isn't perfect, we are not perfect but by 'eck we can always try our best.
I like looking back. I don't unduly linger on the bad or sad bits. But I do compare we how I was then, and how I am now. Older, for sure, but a little more worldly-wise too. I embrace the extra knowledge and experience. I sense you are with me here!
And ... the weather's been great of late. I am sure the feathered fraternity of Hull are enjoying the attention (and treats) lavished on them by your good self.Â
Wishing you, as always, an enjoyable day, Stephen 🙂
Â
Thank you for visiting my diary RochG.
Warm windy day in Hull.
Hope your feeling good.
Â
Hear the whistle blowing
Of the gamble-free express
Heading for the promised land
Free from worry and stress
Â
Avoiding bets and bingo makes it easier to cope
And every day gets better with a belly full of hope
So keep on looking forward and never once look back
Board this train if you want to move on

Hello Diary.
Two months ago was Christmas Day with reindeer in the sky
Strikes me as uncanny that the time goes flying by
Enjoying all my gamble free days with very few regrets
Good riddance to the betting shops, machines and stupid bets.
Â
Aum ?
Affected by gambling?
