Hello all,
Â
This is my journal of my recovery from an online gambling addiction. I have been gambling every day(with the exception of a six month break) for 3 years. I was introduced to online slots an bingo by a friend with one of the old faithful "refer a friend" schemes. Sadly I had a big win pretty much right off the bat and thought "this is easy money!". Well fast forward 3 years and this has almost destroyed my life. Misery, neglecting my young children, hiding my problems and taking money from my husband to gamble away. Well I finally confessed and I feel free an ready to recover. I CAN AND I WILL BEAT THIS
Day 1 complete. 24 hours gamble free. Reading everyone's story's has been so helpful.Â
Well done!!
Registered with Gamstop?... it will stop you gambling when the urge next strikes, which it surely will do.
Anyway, keep up the good work.. S.AÂ

A very positive start Debsy37 !!!
Do seriously consider, as S.A. wisely suggests, Gamstop (takes 10 mins, select the '5 year' option.
Then Gamban - (get it for free via www.gamban.com/gamcare )Â
Then consider handing over financial control to a trusted loved one.
Positive steps that will really help you - all the very best 🙂Â
Well done for confessing Debs . I mentioned to you before it has taken 14 years for me to confess!!! So there is always someone worsen off  than you. I have no control over finances now which is a MASSIVE relief. Keep going you can do this xx
2 days gamble free. I’ve been doing a lot of soul searching and thinking about changes I want to make in my life. Feeling strongÂ
Well done debsy your off to a positive startÂ

Day 3 completely gamble free. It’s been a long time since I said that. I Started module two of gamchange last night and it was truely eye opening. Seeing how much money I had spent it a typical month. I discussed it with my fiancé while I was filling it out as I have now found being completely honest is the only way. It ended in a very tearful (on my part) discussion about how I had hurt him. Recovery is not easy but I WILL do it
4 days gamble free. I went for a walk this morning for 5 miles and blew some of the cobwebs away. Feeling strongÂ
5 days done 🙂
Debsy is a darling
Nearing big Four OÂ
Gamble-free determined
Not to play the slots no more
Â
It never is real easy
For an addict to abstain
But Debsy is determined
Gamble-free she will remain
Â
One day you will look back
With a big whopping sigh of relief
For the time you showed great courage
And developed self beliefÂ
Â
Wishing you every success on your gamble-free adventure.
