Feeling like c**P today. Wish I could fast forward time and this horrible feeling would just fade away. Guilt. Anger and shame.Â
Well done on doing 5 days! Have you spoken to anyone? Called Gamcare? I got referred for counselling, had an assessment yesterday and booked in for phone sessions.Â
I’m totally mortified by what I’ve done and have the exact same feelings as you, but I did feel better last night after speaking with the counselling assessor. They’re non judgmental and have a true understanding of the nature of the problem.Â

Good luck x
Dear Lottie,
Thank you for posting on the Gam Care Forum.
You've made a fantastic start, five days gambling free!
I understand you are feeling all sorts of different emotions right now and that is often to be expected, it's great you're reaching out; it can be really helpful to talk to others and share your experiences as each day you add another day of being GF.
If you have not already done so, it could be useful to give the helpline or netline a call as well so that we can look in to further support options with you. Have you got any restrictions set up?
Wishing you all the very best,

Stay strong Lottie. Your with friends here who can empathise with how your feeling.
At this moment in time everything might be looking bleak but it is the start of a new life for you. An adventure into the unknown on a mission to reclaim your life.
For you to have admitted to being a compulsive gambler would have taken honesty and wisdom. On top of that you have expressed a desire to stop gambling and that takes courage.
Look for the positives and take good care of yourself. You didn't ask to be a compulsive gambler, the addiction just caught you unawares.
