Not been on for a bit but still staying strong:) 121 days and all is good. No impulse to get back on a FOBT and the savings are getting back to where they should have been.

Stay strong people, we can do this 🙂

Hi

I'm new here after losing 4k last week chasing losses on on-line roulette. Same situation as you in many ways that it was my personal savings and I've no other debt - but I had linked my savings account with my husband so he would see if I blew the money as I felt I had no control over the gambling and had had so many 'near misses' of losing and then clawing it back to be even. I put that measure in place to force myself to tell him so I couldn't 'hide' it. This has helped as I can now talk openly to him about my urges and stupid logic of winning everything back. It has helped me make it real with real consequences.

You've done an amazing stint of not gambling and will do again. You therefore are best placed on what to do now.

Hi, also want to chime in and wish you good luck. I have been free for several months at a time. The most was 9 months. I fell right back in each time. If you do relapse, don't beat yourself up about it.

Still going strong on the No FOBT's . No urges to relaps so it's going okay guys. Not getting complacent though and taking one day at a time. Finding other things to spend my spare cash on instead like nice cloths and a holiday. Much better than just giving it away. Still gutted I slipped back at the end of last year and wasted all that money but I can't change the past only the future.

Got to admit Tri that the wife still doesn't know.... Maybe one day... Keep strong people

I am in a similar situation having lost £3k last week to online slots. I think I can cover the loss and my husband won't need to find out. I'm not totally sure but what I do know is that I am terrified of telling him.
I keep reading that it's better to have things out in the open but how can I explain what this addiction is doing to me? It's not all about the money but £3k is a big dent in our savings and he will be livid about that. He doesn't understand the power of the addiction and I don't know how to explain it to him.
I wish you luck in staying away from the machines and look forward to your story if/when you tell your wife.

Well..... Sometimes you just have to brutality honest with yourself. After over 200 days I fell off the wagon. No good trying to pretend that it hasn't happened. It has and I'm 2k backwards from recouping last years losses. Could of stopped but didn't and the old chasing the losses got me again.

So I find myself back at ground zero and feeling pretty peeved off with myself for being weak.

I'm not the first and won't be the last but doesn't really make it any better... Doing so well as well. And so I dust myself down and go again 🙁
