Hi everybody,

Well it has been a long time since I was last on here. I look back at the posts you all wrote over Christmas and feel sad because I have let myself down and you lot by falling of the wagon on the road to recovery. It happened on my honeymoon i hit the casino and it dint end well. Spent in total around 2000 dollars but the missus didnt mind because it was our honeymoon and a experience she wanted me not to miss out on. I just wish I had never done it. I have got to get back into the zone of not gambling.

I will start coming back on here and today is day one for me again. Horrible to know I got so far and now I got so much farther to becoming a non gambler.

I am ashamed off myself and sorry I didnt come on here and keep offering support or try find support.

I hope everyone who kept in touch with me on here had a very good christmas and a gamble free new year. I will be back in England on Thursday hope to catch up with some of you over the weekend.

I felt sad reading ur post cus I know how hard u have worked 2 stay gamble free and how much dedication u have shown 2 this journey!

U have not let ne of us down, I am really sorry 2 hear that u had a slip... But wot matters is u r back here and u r not giving up!

U always knew ur honeymoon would be tough and I know u were worried b4 u went....Sometimes a slip makes us stronger and we can learn something from them!

I know u can do this Ricky, I belive in u 🙂

Enjoy the honeymoon. Forget was is done and leave it there. Aslong as you get back to basics when your back in England you'll be ok. As castle said to me after my slip its not really day one as you've learnt to much over your 200+ days on the wagon to ever really go back to day one. It'll be tough as them gambling demons will have been awoken but you don't have to listen, get through a couple of weeks and you'll be flying again. Enjoy the rest of your honeymoon. Don't let this gambling spoil that.

Great to see you posting!! Really made my night to see a post from you. Obviously the reason for the post isn't ideal but like Charl and David have already said you haven't let anyone down and you have got back here to show you still want to be free of gambling.

David is right enjoy the rest of your honeymoon, make the most of it and then get back here and down to basics again. You did amazingly well last year and as Charl so rightly says sometimes a slip can be beneficial as long as you learn from it and try to put right what may have gone wrong.

Well done for getting back on here mate you have let no one down and should be proud that you have come straight back on here and been honest and open about your slip.

It is just that a slip and you may say that your back to day one but that does not undo the 200 plus days you have put into your recovery or the help and support you have given to so many others on here as well.

Enjoy the rest of your honeymoon. You cant do anything about what happened yesterday but you can always change what happens tomorrow my friend.

No one is let down. A slip is only a slip and does not detract from your " clean time ". Good to have you back. Jump up back on board and carry on the fight.

Your a soldier you know that one battle lost doesnt lose the war it just means you have to make your defences a bit stronger.

sorry to hear about monday,

I might not br the best to offer advice (as im only on day 5 or something), but my problem like yourself is fobt. Make sure your still self excluded from the bookies (its one major positive barrier), and ive thought to myself, if i saw a fruit machine somewhere and it cost anything FROM few quid to £100 a shot.......what would i think..... i would laugh...as i couldnt think it was serious, but thats exactly how evil these things are. WE CANT WIN LONG TERM....ITS IMPOSSIBLE, all were doing is lining the pockets off the shareholders etc.

Glad you had the courage and the bottle to come back, and hey you done well up to mon, you can prove you can do it long term. good luck mate and when you wake up tomorrow just remember to tell yourself that todaY IS GOING TO BE A GAMBLE FREE DAY. adam 1

Day 4,

I have started the count again but I won't forget how far I got last year they will always stick with me. Now I am back in England The barriers are back in place so I can't gamble and the thoughts have sailed away with the Cruise Ship. I am determined to get to a year no gambling and much more and the biggest lesson I learnt was don't gamble for any occasion however big it is because I know I am a serious compulsive gambler and it was stupid of me to think I could have a couple of fun nights in the Casino.

I will always learn from mistakes and not make that mistake again.

Thank you everyone who wrote on my wall with so much support 🙂 means a lot and was very heart felt. I am now back on the wagon and will stick around longer this time.

I will get back to everyone when we have finished unpacking here. and settled back into reality 🙂

Well day 4 time to start racking up those days 🙂

Fella glad to read your post and to see you have found more resolve to continue your efforts to arrest your addiction.

I hope the monies lost don't put you back into too much debt and bottom line is fella you had a great honeymoon and the exceptional circumstances you found yourself in help you in the future.
