Morning diary.

Well the rain has stopped, yesterday kept busy around the house, moved a load of furniture about to make best use of the living space, put probably over a thousand books in the loft to add to many already there.still leaves two floor to ceiling bookshelves heaving with books of all types, well one the other is cook books ranging from the very old to the very new.we have a very eclectic collection on the other, from life on earth to the hitchhikers guide to the galaxy.

I am loathed to get rid of any and like our dear friend tomso and his pc, e books don't smell the same, many books we have tell there own story, as most picked up second hand.

Hovis had a fight with some bramble and has a nasty tear on his leg, so is enjoying a lay in between my sleeping sarah and myself and now the winter duvet is on may take some shifting lol!!!!!

Iwill enjoy my last saturday off, I dosed up here as apposed to my prior life were I would have laid formulating, one ear on the door waiting for my nemesis the postman to deliver more post gambling troubles!!! Today I await a book I found for joe and a cheque for an old phone which I put in youngests name.

All because I am on a journey were no odds will tempt me, blocks in place, self respect intact and buckets of resolve I will step forward never back.

Tonight I may even enjoy some tv LOL !!!!!!!

Duncs compulsive gambler no bet today.

With you on the books Duncs as my recent house move was testamant to....about 10 boxes just with books in.

Any Mrs Beatons in there or rare Deliah?..lol

Had a pang of guilt there as you reminded me of the last conversation I had with my postman a few months back...

Him: You really dont like me do you?

Me: Nope

They are probably used to seeing people scowling at them these days and being seen like traffic wardens .I would'nt mind,my postie is a lovely chap and always brings Dots a biscuit...

Well, those days are gone Mr Duncs and now due to all your continued hard work you have no fear of Pat and his black and white cat....

Hope Hovis gets better....don't let him milk the tlc now...these dogs..they take over y 'know ; )

Hello Sir,

Staying bet free is an absolute necessity for us all on here however, it takes absolute 100% no frills dedication. I cannot think of a member who dedicates more to not gambling. You live your life the way you always wanted but each day you remember why you are here on this site. If there was a solution, a medicine, a certain way to stop gambling then it would be worth millions. In my opinion the way you tackle the addiction is about as close as anyone will get to the miracle medicine.

Absolute inspiration.

Flagg

Evening diary.

well had a flying visit from my mum today as her husband last night was under the weather, which led to him fainting and mum drove down today, had tea and went back home to care for her ed, a truly wonderful fella, honestly if I could live to be half the man he is I will be very proud.

tommorrow ma will take him to the gp and fingers crossed all will be well.

Watched the parks football this morning, refereed by a fella who enjoyed his whistle far too much lol!!!

Thanks for your posts today, flagg I have mentioned many times that I wish I could bottle a cure for this all consuming, destructive addiction that is relentless in it's pursuit of the damage it causes.

But I will live content with the fact that it is possible to live in harmony with my addiction, I will make it my lifes work to block that destruction, I knocked down that brick wall it built around me, and each day my worn out tools I build that wall back up and too boot that stick that beat me for nigh on twenty years I took that too.

I know there is a road out there for all compulsive gamblers to walk down gamble free, my dear gamcare friends I wish to walk by your side.

Just for today. No BET

afternoon diary.

Well mum marched her other half up to the doc's and nothing to worry about, the ticker is fine, blood pressure fine, all systems go!! doc said he had a funny 5 mins!! I reckon he should have put some water in it !!!!! lol.

Read some great posts upon the forum today, which brightens my reserve, as not sure what occurred in "chat" last couple of days but it spilled over to the diaries section making some unpleasant reading.I don't want to get involved I just wish the focus would remain on recoveries as for sure thats what I am here for!! And "chat" I am far to long in the tooth for that LOL sounds like something my Lily-May does on her blackberry, in short I hope the waters calm and folk return to supporting, enough said.

so off to work tomorrow, and my B/day to boot another yr closer to 40!! Ha Ha I nicked a year on begining my life!!!! See the compulsion to devestate my life through gambling was'nt all in vain!!!!

right off to knock out a stir fry for supper, using up the pork left from yesterdays roast!!!

Duncs compulsive gambler NO BET today.

hey Duncs

Glad to hear your mums ok...bit of a worry eh ?...

Well i really hope you have a fab birthday tomorrow and I shall drink a wee toast to you from the big city when i have my evening meal..

Your outlook and attiitude to recovery and I think you are one in a million.

I will keep waving at you over my hedge ...and one day may even make it into a nice sculpture instead...lol...

Thought about your Joe today as a pal posted a comment on my facebook....it said "If karma exsists why do pigeons not get s**t on?"

Figured if I was a young budding writer that may give me inspiration for a poem idea...lol

Enjoy that stir fry and keep on keeping on my friend
