Evening diary

Today my birthday a days reflecting that my sarah, the kids, my mum and ed gave me the best gift in the world, there unrelenting support in my recovery. My mum texted today that visiting us briefly at the weekend she saw us a united family, in her words "a new family" and yes this year that is what we are. A family who give and support, listen, learn from one another and awash with love, unconditional, unrelenting, today I embrace it whole heartedly, all of it down to the fact that the thing that threatened to destroy it all has been arrested.gambling stole to many decisions, nights out, celebrations because I fell for it's addictive charms, the offer of something for nothing.

Today I know what an effort delivers, a constant effort to arrest and abstain rewards, all I have mentioned and more, above all something that no punt however tempting the odds are, the time to live life for all it's worth.

Thanks to todays well wishers, you words help to form my being , one I will endevour to better with each given breath .

I got to begin my life before it slipped away.

Evening diary.

Well another day older, boy did I feel it, nothing to do with the bottle of "postmans knock"!! (thanks mum) for a good week now I wake like a sheet of cardboard, when I walk I sound like one lol!!!! So popped in the docs before work, back friday for blood tests and tuesday for diagnosis, I did ask if the good old wd40 would work does wonders for the bike!!

At work I taught the junior chef to make a dessert taste great and possess a texture by actually cooking the eggs in it

New menu will be instigated soon, nice to have a keen to learn team, who it seems all have a passion for food, should make it enjoyable.

So one plus today was dry, one whole day, did wonder if rach had gone back north lol!!!

No thoughts of ruining it all with a punt, did feel for a lad storming out of a bookies I pass in what could be described as look like earth had landed upon his shoulders, made me think, sh#t wind the clock back and that was me , too many times, oh and the lads at work asked me to join there lotto syndicate, I explained, the one lads answer "we moan every week we never win"

So today diary my pound notes stay mine, a feeling that I really enjoy.

That little short about the guy running out of the bookies, you have to feel sorry for but when the time comes and he's had enough I am sure a post from that person will find it's way on this forum sooner rather than later!

One thing that really itches me though, it does not tempt me but for those who have not tried it, it rather more ****** me off! Is the amount of adverts, online and public (TV, Radio, Billboards, magazines newspapers, on the side of coffee cups cans of fizzy drink) is bloody GAMBLING Advertising! It is all over like a plague, surely this cannot be good. The government must be raking the tax in from these companies otherwise surely the would not let it happen? I mean the economy is in a bad state as it is and this surely is is a huge contributor.

Anyway thats my rant for the day, sry Dunc's it's on your thread but thought you may have a view on this. I can edit this post and remove that later if you wish. Just le me know.

Onwards and upwards, nothing is tempting us! Gamblee free is the way to be!!!!!!

Evening diary.

Well I am 24 minutes into fasting for my blood tests in the morning and could eat a horse lol!!! Well chocolate I want chocolate !!! Lol.

My two boys are into bed with some virus of sorts, feeling sorry for themselves, so I get to do a paper round before work unless there is a change, still on the plus I get to catch up on the news for free!!!!

Tonight I regale in the fact that blondie has brought a great story to the fore, please read it, it made me smile when I read it firstly on Ade's blog and smile just the same tonight.
