Hi Duncan,

Of course your credentials fit and I would be more than happy for you to join and throw any ideas into the mix. My issue is that I have been using Gamcare on and off mostly on for about a year now and would like that little something extra. The plan is just to have a support network away from the site. Someone we can text, email or call for the near future anyway when we feel most anxious or down, the things that trigger a slip. Also to share interests, stories etc and be a bit more open about our lives than we can on here. To have a bloody good laugh about things to. So if you want to exchange details then please feel free to email Gamcare and request an exchange with me, I will do likewise. I will then with permission of all parties exchange everyone's details. You can still obviously use whatever means you need including this site to continue your recovery.

Hope you are feeling a bit better now.

I will be in touch soon. Thanks.

Ian.

Evening diary.

a.n I will email tomorrow, looking forward.

It never ceases to amaze me how this forum groups together and steps forward searching for, sharing new, old ways to have and edge/handle on this addiction.

At it I know I could not give a hoot about the other punters, well anyone really, wishing bad luck to befall all around me so the slice of good luck would head my way!!!!!

Fast forward eight and a half months and I am consumed by my commitment to abstain and in doing so, pass the torch so we all share the light that recovery brings.

Together we stand gamcarers.a stronger force for it.

Duncs stepping forward never back.

Afternoon diary.

Thanks Rach,blondie.

well a visit to the gp to find out why I feel like a very old piece of cardboard when I get up in the morning resulted in a somewhat, enlightening experience!!!!!!!!

this time saw a trainee ??doc and they thought that a test of the blood pressure was in order, which led to them leaving the room hastily and returning with the head of the practice.Dangerously tooo high by all accounts so tomorrow I return for more probing and whispering Lol and a possible trip to have a ecg. Still no news on the aches what I went for as I tommorow have another round of blood tests,on the up side non fasting ones!!!

So I have been the subject of many in jokes at home and work!! of which I take in my stride.

My mum said I have joined the club(family one!) as her and her brother have much the same, and she lost her father at a very young age to the same. today I started on some medication and by the sounds of it much will follow, Mad thing is my health all round for the best part of all this year is vastly improved,no cigarettes, dont drink nearly as much of the black stuff, fitness is fine and the grey matter well that gamble free is at peace with it's self.

So at it was I a bomb ticking?? most probally, then at it I could not care less, would have seen it as a gift to my Sarah and the kids.

Fast forward to today, I will deal with it,do whatever I need to improve myself, take it in my stride.

To live gamble free really has saved my life,I am enjoying it for all it's worth, warts and all.

I thought last night I am 1 week away from9 months bet free, three quarters of a year in the second half of duncs life, back living for all the pleasures I can take from life.

Ask myself a question How are the odds looking for the punt to destruct it all??

answer in short tooooo short!!!!!!!!!

Duncs compulsive gambler No Bet today stepping foward never back.

hey duncs

great to see you in such good spirits despite going to the docs for results...

Y'know..this is where I gt convinced sometimes that there is some unseen hand at work who pops up at the right time...

.

Now you are so strong mentally its like the HP is sayng ok..lets get your body in tune now...

They say you are never given any more than you can cope with and like with the gambling ..I know you will be moving forward with your health...

I think you will get armed with all the info you need to empower yourself and be a great example to wellness...in body, mind and spirit.

hugs

R and Dxx

ps..true facts...stroking dogs and cats lowers your blood pressure...watch out Hovis...!! theres a lot of love coming at you xxx
