Hi my name is IMRAN

I am trying this the last time as nothing is helping me at the momment.

This time I am going to give it 100% as I can't afford to gamble anymore. I have self excluded myself from all bookmaker in my area and any other places I mite goto.

I have self excluded from all online bookmakers and installed a software to stop me from gambling. I stll have one online account open with pending bets and soon as they are clear I will close that also.

And have no money so can't use it anymore to gamble and I will close this way before I get paid.

Today I lost £900 and feel like really bad. This money was for my holiday and now have to get a payday loan out to cover this.

After my final bets have settled I will self excluded my self from this last account.

This has also put me back in debt after I cleared them few months back and know I have to start all over again.

Don't know what to do as am running out of options.

Day 1.

Hi Imran

Well done on having the strength to put blocks in place to help stop your gambling. Self excluding really can help, as it makes it very difficult to gamble locally. The possibility of someone challenging you, is usually enough to have any thoughts of going in a bookmakers.

The online software is also important, as this can become the easier option if there is no where to gamble locally. You are taking the right steps.

Tomorrow is day 2, keep going, keep fighting and you will beat this.

My urge to gamble are still kicking in and want to place a bet but can't as most place I gamble have been self excluded from I wish I did this long time ago.

I am going to stay strong and not let this drag me down.

When am Stress, When am Board, and when i think of my Debt.

I will try and post again in the evening.

Also thank you for you support Doodle.

Day 2

Still waiting for my outstanding bet to settle so I can close the account as this is causing the urges to gamble.

So far am staying strong but i will feel much better when the account on-line is closed and to be honest it currently doesn't matter if i win or lose on these bets as i had enough of throwing my money away and its time to look to a better future.

Also thank you for your support guys it mean allot.

Feeling to gamble and try and get my loses back but i know that is not going to happen.

Plus I don't have the cash to gamble which is a good thing at the moment other wise i would of spent it by now.

May this is the stress talking but am finding it really hard today.

I will try and port again during the day.

Good to read you're back, Imran. I hope you succeed in beating this. You deserve it.

It took me many months and several slips, so know that with this it's a trial of sorts and finding the right way starts with some belief and a little faith in yourself. Good job on the self-excluding and blocking. Very self-empowering move, Imran.

I remember you on here (if it is you?) back when I started out and have said (if it is you) that your bet free Christmas 2012 thread was helpful in my early days. I thank you again and wish you well.

I think I'm out of the gambling loop now, myself. I don't gamble, don't think about gambling and never really care for it anymore. That being said, I was/am a problem gambler and am always on my guard.

Wish you well on your journey of recovery. Make it work, Imran. Stick to this diary and do your best.

Day 5

Nearing a week and I also get paid this Friday, that will be a big challenge for me.

On the gambling side

I still have an urge to gamble and i know the closer I get to pay day the stronger the urges are going to get.

Also my head is thinking of gambling most of the time I need to get this gambling out of my head and think of something else.

This has been my weakness over the years, i get paid and end up in the bookies, so i have to make sure this does not happen and the blocks i have put in place work.

On the debt side

I am still looking for a plan that suits me and is easy to repay back.

Day 5 and staying strong i can do this.

Morning Imran

Just quickly checking in with a word of encouragement and a congratulations on getting through 5 days with no gambling - you're doing well.....keep it up!! A couple if things to think about......what are the barriers you are putting up to prevent a lapse? Money, location and time......remove one f the three and you won't be able to gamble!!

Late last week you put a post on the 2014 Challenge thread asking to join the group - it's still available to you, but I couldn't add you last week as if isn't know about your days clean or anything. The group thing is helping a lot of people - have another look of the thread and think about it and whether it would for you?

All the best!

Imran

Fella you have put five days between you and the last punt.

Something to be proud of my friend.

the honourable Mr.B is right, the blocks will help.

Bottom line is my friend the choice is yours.

I hope your payday means you keep your hard earnt rather than gift it to the bookies!!

You are a winner, your choice is now whether or not you remain one.

You did win because you did stop.

Duncs stepping forward never back.

Well done Imran!

Keep it up, when payday arrives, all that money is YOURS!

You DESERVE it! It is your money that you earned from working HARD. The bookies don't work hard for it, and happily take it from you........ don't allow them to! It is not their right!

You are the bigger person for walking away and now you need to focus on rebuilding your life and finding a plan to repay which suits you.

The sooner you consolidate and have the direction you want to go in, the sooner you can enter a new phase of your life.

Day 6

Thank you for your support it means a lot and some good points there that i can use.

I have also closed my online account so this has now limited me from online betting.

Plus i have opened 25 new accounts and then closed every single one of them. I did this so i can't open a new account when i get paid.

Now i am just installing the software to stop me from gambling on my computer and mobile.

I have some bookmaker outside my area were i still have to self exclude from but i very rarely go into these area as the quite a distance away, but when i'm next in these areas i will self exclude myself from those bookmakers also.

The important thing i have to remember is not to take any cash with me when i do go into these areas.

Day 6 staying strong
