Looks like day 3, though I'm pretty sure its day 4. Went shopping with my partner. Made a pork roll and now sitting around fighting the boredom. Can't get the wheel out of my mind. But there's no chance I'll gamble. Need to replace it though. Need something else. I don't know what yet.

Hi again mate, wheres your other diary gone?

Boredom is the killer you need to occupy your time lots go to the tor for a run I tend to read a lot and watch box sets.

What did you do before gambling got a grip of you?

Hi mate, it's really important that you fill your time and always best if you fill it with something you want to do. Is there anything you could do with your partner? Talk to them and see what they would like to do with your new found time? Most of all try to enjoy it for what it is.

Well done on your first few days and keep the faith.

I used to write. This was my last book.

But I take medication for clinical depression and the side effects eat away at my creativity. I had to give up the writing. Might be another reason I turned to gambling. I like movies and I read a bit. I do still blog.

Such a shame this talent has Been taken away from you. I've just read a sample and while it's not my normal thing i enjoyed it. I can see the skill in the writing it must of been a great release for you. I can only assume it has been written from personal experience and from the little I have read you've had it tough mate.

Maybe in time you will be get that creativity back but keep reading and blogging maybe a bit more to fill that gambling void

If you can write a bit and enjoy movies, you could spend some time writing reviews? I write game and DVD reviews for a site called Ciao. They link to Amazon. Reviews pay c**P, maybe a few pence for a review or a tenner for a really exceptional one (there are prixes for the best few hundred reviews every month).
Regardless, I do it because it occupies my time and keeps me focussed on something other than gambling. Earning a couple of quid doing something I enjoy is better than losing a couple of hundred doing something I hate.

I haven't had it harder than anyone else and I don't feel sorry for myself. Life is what it is. You just get on with it. I don't miss my writing at all. I miss my gambling though
