Hi Tommy,

Just wanted to say what s great diary this is, forgive yourself the relapses, as the desire to beat this is key.

You can do this, sounds like you have a great support network in place as well.

You can do this

2 month n again I've just posted this on my WhatsApp group for g a don't know if anyone can relate thought I would share

Hello everyone sorry for another post I just need get this out and maybe some one as had the feeling. Will be quite deep tbf

These last few nights after finished work been running or finished tea bathed and put kids in bed I've been getting this empty feeling like somethings missing (gambling) even though I'm doing everything possible to keep busy I've been really struggling with the empty feeling like an example the exciting feeling knowing u just been paid and its Saturday in the morning it's a wierd one because even though by 5 o'clock everything as gone all them these are dead certs are gone and that sinking feeling is back but soon go when you know you can get your hands on some more money.

I'm trying to learn to deal with the emptyness and its hard but there's only so many hobbys jobs listening to music you can do so for 15 20 mins since kids have been asleep I've just gone with it and decided it's part of the addiction and my life what I after deal with you cant be doing something all the time so I've just gone with the emptyness and thought about all the good I have done over last two month and changes I've made I seen a quote we are human beings not human doings and I think it's a simple quote to understand you know what I've lied hear doing nothing when that empty feeling and sort of worry come and after a few mins it went away and that was the addiction poem all over it was the person in the shadows trying to lure me back in and I said not today I havnt got voices in me head but I'm sure you all get me I don't know where the empty feeling comes from or why I get it but it's there and it has to be dealt with and I will continue to try and conquer it and if I come up with any good ways I will share sorry for the long post again

Thanks for all your reply s day 85 today and things really are changing for the better I've actually just come from a week away with my family in Cornwall which was great and just what we needed I wouldn't of been able to do this while gambling I managed to save up enough money and actually keep a car on the road and fill up all my petrol as well as treat my loved ones something I have always struggled to do due to gambling things are on the up I don't up date as much as I'd like to due to working and having 2 youngens but will update again soon

Well done Tommy.

Take this proud feeling and compare it to your lowest point as a result of gambling. The two are poles apart aren’t they.

Whenever you have a wobble, think of the difference between the feelings and choose which to head towards.

Keep up the good work.
