Hi Martin,

Thanks for the poem ☺..read it on 5min break and yup..too right - more sobs, tears, snots and full room rushing over to see what's the deal setting me off :-/..crazy but also so amazing for sure ☺

Thank you so much! I really appreciate it. It made perfect sense and i am so so fortunate i have an opportunity to grab that rope which is there for me..only i can hang tight on it and only i can get out of that hole and stay on the safe platform called life!

Not giving up, i have so much to loose if i do... & ultimately i have so much to gain if i abstain and maintain! I prefer second option ☺

I will get there - progress not perfection. Fully committed this time, i want and will be a better person.

Stay safe and thank you so much for your support

S x

Hi Oldham,

You realise you haven't had a cheeky bet. The pyscology of that tells me you had plenty of cheeky bets.

They aren't cheeky really. It's a mugs game. We both know that.

Toad.

I see someone is doing a bit of fishing off his lily pad let's hope he doesn't get a big bite that pulls him off.

Oh , don't please no more Aaaaarghs , I can't take it anymore !!

Hiya Martin , unfortunately we can;t take the kids , we could if there were seats left but there's only one arline that goes to the destination and we took 23 seats straight away back last year , bit of a pain but we couldn't forsee it really . The boys will gio in to respite with another carer , it's omly a 5 day trip so hopefully it'll be ok .

I think the speech will be ok , for the first sort of draft I'm pretty happy and I've got about 6 weeks left to get it spot on , I could alawys pretend I'd written it in Italian , so as long as I put on an accent and sounded romantic the women would be happy , I'd just read from the Pizza menu and get away with it , I was thinking the other day funny enough about what you'd said to me about " Walking my daughter down the aisle and being proud and gamble free " think it's on my old deleted diary but just kind of stuck with me , so thanks for those words mate . By the way do you know why pirates are so scary ? :))

Keep yer bait away from the hungry Toads my friend and I'll catch up soon .

Cheers buddy x

Not had a bet today or since my last post.

Football on in work all the lads with phones under there desk putting bets on they know about me and try and keep it quite but I don't think they was happy with nil nil at halftime. A flurry of halftime activity going on chasing there loses. I eye smile by me enjoys the game for what it is.

Hi Oldham I've just finished your diary, took me a while but I wanted to make sure an absorb it all.

I'm in a sort of similar situation regarding family although my little guy is only 6 months. I can totally sympathise with how hard it is not living with them and missing your ex. All we can do is look forward and make the right choices for our family and ourselves.

Your story had a sad beginning but look how far you've come these last months, you're like a new person! Of course some days will be more difficult than others but you have shown we can come through them.

Congrats so far on your recovery. I honestly believe you'll never return to that awful way of life and I hope to be another success story also!

Last week I brought home the book/register from GA and it's made an interesting read.

In the past month we have had 27 different people through the door not all at one probably an average of about 15-18 a week.

I've just worked out we have 18,373 gamble free days between us. I've double an triple checked it that's just over 50 YEARS collectively.

Some going that. Lots of hard work and recovery there. No egos or hierarchy and I'm sure most will say they are the same as our newest guy on 9 days, just one day of a bet.

And 90% of us don't even say the date of last bet just we've not had a bet today or since my last meeting
