I still haven't re self excluded,[ i picked a form up a few days ago ] frankly I'm too embarassed to approach the manager after reassuring him i could handle it when i reinstated. I'd forgotten how good it feels to be in control again.

Excellent article in yesterdays Daily Mail by Melanie Phillips ( Mon 5 Dec ) about the wrongheadedness of accepting gambling as a socially desirable activity.

Just thinking, the British get the society they deserve. They take a highly addictive table game from 18th century France reserved for casinos in rich tax havens, put it on a fruit machine for the plebs to destroy themselves on every street corner. I bet they don't have them in Germany or France.

My mistake, they do have slot machine venues in Germany, they cause big problems there too.

Even winning makes me niggly it is never enough. I'm not sure losses make me feel worse, only if i lose control. In fact recoveries from a big loss are the most satisfying, back from the brink so to speak. Small time gambling so boring time consuming, big stakes so dangerous. Gambling not the problem, the lemons that gamble are. I have recently baled two no three mates only one has paid me back. I've not really helped them, they just f**k up again. I'm always saying do what i say not what i do. I'm very lucky that i have security. I am sooooo morally against gambling now. Even my bookmaker shares have lost 18%, serves me right really.
