Cheers Too Much

Have completed another day, that's 6 now

Was listening to 5 live this morning whilst driving, Peter Allen, who was discussing problem gambling

Didn't hear all of it, but did hear the main story about a husband who was jailed for fraud after stealing from the company he worked for

He told his wife late one evening that he had to go to court tomorrow. He had been twice before and was being sentenced.

He got 2years and his wife only found out when his brief called her by phone later that evening!

Was quite a story but familiar. It would seem that there is a general consensus that the general public don't really understand compulsive gambling

I guess you have to experience it to really know as much about it.... in my case, just a little too much!

Hi Weldy, have found your return heart warming and a few of your entries struck a cord with me. Good luck with your recovery and hopefully we never find the solution to our problems as it seems when we do our problems have only just begun.

Hey Weldy

I'm back with you again. Had a major slip on Tues, but back on the wagon now. Day 3 for me. Day 7 for you, brilliant. You can do it. I think the early days are the worst, once you've got those under your belt, the time will fly.

keep strong.

Stu.

Morning Weldy.

One week done which is a great start and shows your determination. You know the feeling of being off the gambling treadmill....it's blooming marvellous.

Slowly, slowly, those days will add up and it's surprising how fast the time will fly.

Have a relaxing Sunday....Jas x

Hi all and thank you for your messages.

Well I made it through the weekend but must admit that I did find Saturday very difficult

Have kept busy with work and in a few weeks hope to feel on top of the work situation which suffered recently

Onwards to double figures!

Still going and have been so busy with work that it's taken my mind away from gambling thoughts, though they are still there lurking in the background.

Cannot lie that I am missing the thrill of betting as it feels like such a void in my old routine but I can say I don't miss the inevitability of ending up on the back of a loss and then struggling to come to terms with the losses

I almost find myself wishing away time so that it can become a distant memory, but still feeling the effects of a binge that resulted in my first missed mortgagee payment and bank letters that I left behind several years ago

Feels frustrating I had to get back there to do anything about it, but know that if I can keep on this path I can put things right again

A few months and I may be able to come to terms with the losses and get back to making progress again

Have achieved a lot in the last two years, so cannot let this bad time derail my plans

So onwards, tomorrow I will not gamble

well done Weldy.

Keeping busy is the key isn't it. Using time on other things, not gambling. Well done on your gamble free days so far.

take care
