Day #1 - Sports Betting Addiction

Today I woke up knowing that I will no longer be playing this torturous game. There was a sense of relief but at the same time the urges were still strong. I started my day with a 30minute jog down the beach, being physically active has helped keep me busy and keeps me in a good state of mind. In my downtime is when it becomes difficult. After years of being in this game you develop unconscious habits, and you feel lost when you cannot keep doing them. I am so used to spending my weekends locked to the TV placing sports bets and wasting my money away. I deleted my online betting account, and also totalled my losses over the last month ($1500) to show myself how much I could be saving instead of losing. Today has been challenging but I've made it through bet free. It's only day 1 but it's a start. To be continued.....

Go for it Jarry . Brothers and sisters in arms we're all here together battling this insidious addiction . Every day takes us further away from that last bet .

The compulsion to gamble won't go away easily , it's not going to give you up without a fight . Be strong and stay with us , turn your back on the addiction and ignore the crazy tapping on your shoulder .

Wishing you every success in getting your life back ..... stephen

Like yourself I've wasted hard earned money, time and so much wasted energy on sports betting. Without even realising I have been on a downward spiral for years with sports betting the source of misery. I now haven't gambled for 64 days and although there are urges I am feeling better every day. I now have time and energy for other things. In addition to will power power simple things like walk down the beach and gym have helped. Best wishes
