Hey Phil,

Lovely to hear from you and glad you are doing well.

Wasn't on chat for quite a while, work keeps me busy, and on days off, just get out of routine and usually too late for them lol:-)

Hopefully tonight i will join the chat and catch up with you all.

Well done for another day gamble free:-) keep it up my friend....day 67 .. keep them coming!

Hi Phil,

Thanks again for your post on my diary and constant support.

Huge well done 66 days gamble free! Good to hear that you were able to spend some time with your Dad recently.

Hope you have a brilliant time in Switzerland, a well deserved treat for your progress so far!

Try not to worry too much on the upcoming football season, just occasionally remind yourself of the losses incurred by betting on this last season and/or the seasons before this. It is sometimes too easy to focus on the good times we had when gambling which normally come about by urges to gamble. Just try and remind yourself of the bad times too.

I'm doing fantasy football at work, will get more thrills out of that than gambling money away on an unpredictable outcome.

Take care matey, stay happy and keep up the good work

Thanks Jimbo,

ha, fantasy football yeah interesting!! played for 6 years and 3 out of those played for money, so this year will play with no money. Mrs Phil not overly happy with my participation, but she is really has big fears, and I of course understand.

Work is picking up which is good, and focus is really intensifying with a lot of things, have started listening to some motivation cds, which I have been finding incredibly helpful, it is tailored towards fulfillment and success, but in my opinion can be applied to gambling quite well, as by stopping there is great success. It talks a lot about conditioning the brain, re-training it and it makes a great deal of sense. Going to use it for other areas of my life too.

anyway take care all my lovely friends and enjoy the sun, day 69 for me and things are looking up!!

Phil

Thanks Sandra and Stu......

fly on Wednesday but off work this week, got the kids all by myself for 2 days, and so far they are being a handful, they are just a little bored!! But with the above in mind not sure how much I will be posting over the next 10 days or so, will try my best.

Day 73, urges becoming possibly less of an issue but I know that I must remain strong. Home life, is as usual up and down, finding it difficult to change things as I would want them, and part of that really is my problem, but I am searching within for the answers.

Anyway take care all my friends and have a great week.

Phil

Morning my friends....

so back from 6 days away, lost count on what day I am on but at a guess is around 82 i think. Back from Switzerland/France, got off to a tricky start but settled down and had a lovely time, most importantly made some great progress with my wife. Funnily enough the first row of the holidays was probably down to fear from my wife of participation in Fantasy Football, she just worries that it is a "gateway" to gambling, still not quite resolved that one as I still want to do it!!!

Asides from that no real urges to gamble, have got a load of personal goals in mind which require focus and I know that gambling will only destroy the chances of achieving my goals.

anyway the sun is shining and all is good, take care everyone and have a great day.

Phil

Hey Phil

Glad you enjoyed your hols. Still going well I see - I think having mini goals can be a great form of motivation to help us to abstain.

Take care and remain strong.

Lady Feb - still eating mounds of chocolate!!!
