200 days gamble free! After years of gambling and many tries to stop, this is the longest by far. I am committed to abstinence and feel happier than ever.

My StepChange plan is ongoing and my debts are slowly being cleared. I've managed to get more hours at work which makes things a bit easier. I have even applied for a PPI refund! Over the years of gambling I had many loans and credit cards and never felt confident enough to apply for a PPI check as I felt I would have to explain why I had so much debt, of which I was totally ashamed. So, you never know I may get something back - it will go straight into the DDP and reduce my debt (fingers crossed).

Take care lovely people and don't give up, you will get there; I never thought I would xx

289 days today, and probably the hardest couple of months recently. Ill health has resulted in a hospital stay and a few weeks off work; during this time I had an overwhelming urge to gamble and tried to join a few sites but, thanks to self exclusion and affiliated groups I was knocked back every time I tried. I have since got my act together and feel a bit daft that, after all the stresses I have endured due to compulsive gambling, I was willing to put myself in that position again.

On a plus note my StepChange is 10 months in and I only just over 2 years to pay. I have money left every month and have managed to set aside a certain amount which has paid for a summer holiday!!

I think the message here is set your barriers high and even if you have a moment, or weeks, of madness you will overcome the urges and get back on the road of recovery. I refuse to see it as a setback but rather a test.

Carry on the path...even if you have a wee wobble xx
