Thanks Sandra, GT, Gazza and Duncs for your kind supportive posts.

Surgery was successful, and after a day or so in intensive care. Followed by high dependency ward. I have reached the sanctuary of my ward room. Yesterday was tough, and now a whole different form of recovery starts for me for 3 months!!

Just about managing to walk down a corridor isn't exactly my thing in normal circumstances, but you have to take things very slow.....And the food ain't too bad either, so I'm in til the weekend.

Keep strong all

Ade

Thank you all for your kind supportive posts.

I get released tomorrow, and can spend Saturday night in my own bed. Yippppppeeeeeee!!! ;0)

Still a bit sore, battered and bruised, what a fantastic Five star hotel...mm..sorry...I mean hospital!! Amazing, caring staff, all working as a great team. It's so impressive and humbling to watch. Still riding this strange emotional roller coaster, which at times has seen me in floods of tears. And that was mainly due to Spurs not beating Everton last Saturday!!!! Sorry, I can't take anything seriously these days. Not even my own open heart surgery!! But yeah, around day 3 or 4 (post-op), this wave of relieve and intense emotion comes over YOU. It's your bodies way of releasing the trauma it has suffered, and you just have to let it all out..... I was chatting to the physio the other day, and she asked me a general question, and I just broke down. A blubbering 46 year old blokey bloke like me! Bizarre eh......right, time to man up and get out of this joint tomorrow.

Keep strong all

Recovery is possible

Hi Ade,

I'm not sure if you remember me but, I've been on the diaries for some time now. Anyway, just wanted to say that I am sooo inspired by your transformation. Blubbering maybe but, I have never seen you so strong and so determined. Hugs and Respect! -joan x (alias cowgirl.)

Hi Ade,

So good to see you bouncing around it's hard to tell in words..soon be home time - happy and peaceful time in ur new "creation" ya know what i mean ☺
Now...not sure if you got heart pacer fitted..please listen and tk it in cause it's truth if you had:

в—Џ Stay away from magnetic places cause ya will be dragged to the field of the force 😉 and that's just too powerful to get deattached!
в—Џ after 10yrs if im correct ya might need to change a battery (I'm afraid we are not as far in science to fit durracell ones in lol)..now..it is only a switch on - off button so they will change it while ya loose contact but i am 100% sure you will bounce bk with a jolt :-)))..don't worry..that's science for you and i heard it's kind of fun too 🙂 ...hmmmm..interesting
в—Џ now...not sure about your over excitement but ya have to be careful cause if device/ticker doesn't agree you might get quite strong electric shock!..but that's only to remind ya that ticker is doing overtime 😀 ..just don't hit the wall of have ur bk facing downstairs..might b painful :-0

Well..that said,i wish you speedy recovery ☺ so so glad you are posting and keeping those anastetics working lol...don't cry no more..time for smiles 🙂

Sandra x
