Hey my name is axeman im a musician from London. i started gambling about 5 years ago and have honestly lost about 80,000 maybe more. i know your probably thinking who cares about the amount when the bigger problem is gambling itself, however i figured id be completely honest with you guys.

i mainly gamble on the roulette machines at ***********.Today which is the 26/05/2014 i lost "230 not to mention the 4000 i lost last week.

at this point ive been on 1 meal a day not taking regular showers and i feel completely devistated to be honest.

Axeman

fella welcome to the forum,a place where you will receive a great deal of help, support and some amazing advice from like minded folk who all by and large share a common goal.

The goal to arrest the destruction that is the gambling which takes there life and destroys it.

Use your diary to chart your progress,to help build your resolve to arrest the next punt.

The bottom line is you have a choice to make,we all do each day,the common goal to stop that first bet,the result with irony you actually by not gambling win.

My advice, the same advice that was gifted to me upon my first days recovery,it still works today over two years on

There is a triangle

Time-money-location

take one away at all times and the punt becomes impossible, gifting the rational side of the brain some valuable time to make a choice that will have a more profound outcome than any bet ever will.

I hope you take as much from this amazing forum as I have.

Abstain and maintain

Be kind to yourself

Recovery for me a constant source of enjoyment, enrichment and the best thing I did with my life

Because without a stake it gifts a life

Enjoy it

Duncs stepping forward never back

Awe sorry to hear that and yeah It's happened to me so many times I can't count them all. Guess i don't like to lecture folks but there had to not be some road blocks in place that could of helped. Banning, giving control of your money to someone else, carrying as little cash as possible. Guess if there's on thing I've learnt through all of this is we can't control our destiny and if were meant to have more in our lives it will happen. And yeah if we choose to throw away what we do have there's always someone willing to take it.

Hi axeman

Be strong and 100%committed and you have a chance of a better everything mate! I am on day 56, wasted lots of cash over 20 plus years and become a compulsive liar, we all know they go hand in hand. This is an illness that will see you in the gutter or 6 feet under. I go to GA meetings and find them a massive help. I have also paid 150 to have 3 sessions with a life coach, well worth the money. Once you stop and the days go by you will feel better and the thought of gambling will go away. Good luck mate.
