2 weeks today!, got paid £40 from an extra shift I worked at the weekend so need to go to the cash machine on my way to work tomorrow morning as I just got tagged in a raffle and NEARLY bought a number - feeling strong though - no relapse for me!
Well done Lisa! Getting there!
thankyou!

Stay strong Lisa and remember that if you don't gamble, your financial situation will slowly improve.
Many times on the diaries I read of people who returned to gambling in a misguided attempt to solve their financial woes. We all know that is crazy thinking but the addiction will try it on us anyway because it thinks we don't have a lot of patience and are a bit gullible.
I am retired now and live alone so can't really do much more damage then what I have already done. It breaks my heart though when I read the diaries and see the misery and torment that gambling continues to cause. Every day new victims are unwittingly drawn into this insidious addiction that destroys so many lives.
Take care ...stephen x
Hi Stephen, thankyou so much for your support it means a lot, you’re right it does sometimes feel like gambling again could fix everything but I know deep down that it won’t. Emptied my bank account into my purse again today so if I get tempted it’s not possible as I wouldn’t ever gamble in person with cash. It’s been nice not having anxiety for 2 weeks but rubbish being skint. Like I’ve said before it’s 6.5 more months of debt payments then I’m finally free and going on holiday so hopefully it goes quick and I can make it through without being silly
Worked 22 hours between Friday evening and Sunday evening so absolutely exhausted and no temptation at all to gamble thankfully
Many thanks Lisa for visiting my diary. In answer to your query, I do have to be careful when thinking about spending money because my thoughts can so easily turn to gambling. Hopefully though, if I can go for a lengthy period without gambling than my mind will see things from a different angle.
You seem to be working very long hours so hope you are feeling ok. I know your aim is to pay off your debts within 6 months and than have a holiday but please be careful not to overdo it. The main thing is you are heading in the right direction and in time to come everything will fall into place.
Wishing you happy days as you continue on your gamble free adventure ...stephen x
Hey Stephen, hope you’re doing ok just now? It’s hard not to overdo it but trying my best to find a balance of saving and staying or and still trying to enjoy my life
Last week of gamble free January!! Can’t wait for these next 6 months to be over and done with
So something really good just happened, I emailed everyone I had payday loans with saying I feel they should have looked into my circumstances more and I’ve just been offered £130 back from peachy. A wee bonus to help me get through the month. Glad to see the end of January 🙂
