Yo,

Was thinking lately when I read your posts , I read I think all of them not just on your thread but on others .

The humour and Micky taking particularly about yourself ( which we all really enjoyed) has changed to a more reflective stance . Think this shows how your confidence in yourself and your knowledge of this addiction has grown . I still enjoy your posts , before you sent me off chuckling ( you still do at times ) but know you give me food for thought .

I recon that this is part of the journey , looking a bit deeper in the addictive personality , like what comes next . In the words of Smiler and Duncs favourite catch frase abstain and maintain . ( quite rightly so IMO)

I agree with you whole heartily , I do not read back either , today when I post it's bout how I feel , what's happening in my life and like you a few laughs thrown in along the way , just to keep the reader interested .

Think it's great that you are going to do that art demo ,

Even better that you are looking forward to it .

Rambled on a bit there , hope you got my gist .

Have a good day ,

Shiny xxxxxx

Morning,

Simply awesome post too be honest! You won't go back and re-read it but many others might. Nail on head comment after comment.

I semi apologise today as I have often said to you go back to the beginning and look how far you have come. Today I realise this is not your style. I think that's the beauty of recovery there are actually a number of methods which can work. The key is to trust them and stick with it. You have done that for 207 days and I for one feel inspired and privileged to know you even if only in cyberspace.

"I have the strength and the foresight to visualise the consequences"

We must all remember this comment that you made in your last post.

We all know what the consequences WILL be.

What we (including me) don't know quite so much is what the consequences of leading a gamble-free life in the long term is. This is why I will definitely post back every now and then next year after I 'leave' this forum. I was inspired when other people did this but this did not happen often enough.

Have a great gamble-free day.

Hi Steve

Really really interestin post which truly showed another side to u , some real inner thoughts that not often come out , what struck home to me it just shows how everyones recovery is different we all av different takes and views , what is right and what is wrong is completely irrelevant what we achieve is all that matters and in all different steps we are striving towards our goals

Like u this site is massive towards my recovery and would be lost without it , finding that right balance is important which is something I av always struggled with , for urself u seem to handle it well and make good use of it

Off to see hotel Transylvania on Sunday with my daughter , the haribos will be bought from the supermarket ! Cinema bosses should wear masks with stripey shirts and wear a swag bag lol bout a tenner for a drink and popcorn !

Reminds me of some other greedy bosses we used to give our hard earned money to

Take care

Day 212, nothing noteworthy to report. Refraining from the old booze this evening as I want to be up early tomorrow and because I am a useless drinker. No urges or emotional upheaval for me at the moment which I'm grateful for. Things just ticking over nicely with calmness. Don't want or need much, don't feel like I'm missing out either. Just enjoying the moment. Take care all

Cheers Blondie,

Just want to say how friggin rubbish that panorama programme was, it didn't even scratch the surface on how the gambling industry is wrecking society and people's lives. The statistics were diluted, the journalism lazy and the examples of case histories appeared almost trivial. Gambling within this country is far, far, far more epidemic and ruinous than that programme portrayed. Lazy, lazy journalism, shame on them.

Well Angry, Surbiton

Steve.

Fella the disappointment that was the panorama programme leaves a really dirty taste in the compulsive gamblers mouth!!! I can quite believe how much our addiction was belittled, to spend a large proportion of the show for me advertising the fobt is nothing short of discusting." Look a win 7.20 !! "

Today I will be spending my last day before my job startswriting to my mp, panorama, and the disgrace that is the gambling commission.

From this life I will continue to drink from a half full glass, thanks panorama your programme fueled a fire that I will carry for all compulsive gamblers.

Sorry to rant on your blog fella, I will turn this into a positive.

Duncs stepping forward never back
