Morning Stephen thanks for the post, I'm sure I've read desiderata before. "Take kindly the counsel of the years, gracefully surrendering the things of youth" how true. I shall read it next time I'm chair.

Thankyou for the posts on my diary, always appreciated .

Mixer ..... Totally agree with your sentiments - I can't do much to shape the world but there's a lot I can do to help myself and those close to me .

Glint ...... Thankyou for elaborating on your profile picture of a constellation . I guess it would be difficult to have a bet in deep space so it would be good to go there for rehab . Have you ever spent time on Red Dwarf ? Your names not lister or rimmer is it ?

On a more serious note I don't know how your recovery is progressing ! hope you find what your looking for with peace, contentment, and jolly adventures.

Merry go round......Love your posts, full of passion, you unreservedly raise issues that many might find unpalatable, recognising compulsive gambling for what it is . Sadly many gambling addicts harbour affection for the gambling buzz, ready to turn a blind eye to the horrors that go with it.

Sars..... Utmost respect for your progress in recovery and the support you give to fellow travellers .

Dear Diary . My life seems to be unfolding quite nicely . 123 days without a bet and have total confidence in my ability to remain gamble free . No going back now , it's over .

Music selection for today is ' Don't Stop ' by Fleetwood Mac ;

Don't stop thinking about tomorrow - Don't stop, it'll soon be here - It'll be here better than before

Yesterday's gone, Yesterday's gone .

Morning Diary. 124 days GF. Great day , sunny outside and feeling good.

Thankyou Changemylife , ItMattersMoreWh, Christer. I appreciate your support.

My music choice today is ' Song For Sharon ' by Joni Mitchell......This is the story of a young womans inner conflict and reflections on the life changing decisions she has to make . Will get myself comfy with a cuppa as it's over 8 minutes long . Beautiful music and a great blast from the past .

Morning Diary. 125 Days GF..... Heartbreaking to read of relapses by friends who seemed to be doing well. A sobering reminder to avoid complacency and always be on my guard. It is essential I post in my diary daily and regularly read some of the diaries, if I have to do that for the rest of my life than so be it , it's a small price to pay for my recovery .

We all know how hard it is after a relapse, to get back on our feet and make a genuine effort to stop gambling. To learn from the past than let it go, to focus on the challenges that lie ahead. My congratulations to friends who are back in recovery, ready to resume the battle.

My music choice today is ' Recovery ' by James Arthur ;

In my recovery - I'm a soldier at war - I have broken down walls

I defined - I designed - my recovery

In the sounds of the sea - In the oceans of me

I defined - I designed - My recovery

Hi Stephen I have been thinking similar thoughts after reading about relapsing also alcohol addiction. Although we are all here under not ideal circumstances just knowing your not alone means so much. But like you saying letting go of the past is so hard but really the only way to move forward. Have a good day and take care S:)

Great lyrics to the song by James Arthur there, Abstainer. Your dairy is one of my daily 'musts', part of my morning routine to make sure I resolve to be gambling free, just for today.

Thankyou for the posts on my diary .

breakfree....congratulations on your 26 days gf. Like your positivity and determination, look forward to following your progress .

Sharon....Will forever be grateful for your help in my recovery, you have always been a shining light 56 days up ahead. I have often heard the phrase lead by example and thats exactly what you do so well. A down to earth no nonsense lady who just knuckled down and got on with the job.

Mixer....Full of admiration for the support and encouragement you give other travellers, picking them up when they're weary, and helping them on there way with encouragement and good advice.
