Yo,

Early start today , off on my travels . Couple of days away , convincing the minions that the latest project we have dreamed up will benefit them, and get them on board with it .

So Miss Posivity for the next few days ....

If I do not get a chance to post tomorrow I sort of met this weeks challenge . It was allowing myself to be angry and to stick up for my self , instead of cowering in a corner. I managed this to some degree, but think it will take longer than a week to change something I did for a life time .

Next weeks challenge is to wear my glasses to work every day . On a chain around my neck and not be so self concision about it . Need to face up to the fact that I am getting older , even though I feel wearing them is sort of like a big badge stating that fact . Stupid I know .......

All have a fab week end , probs won't post till Monday .

Morning Shiny,

Thought your post about standing tall was very thought provoking......You are so right....we should all stand and be proud!

Now going into womble mode........

Glasses....dont get me started...My daughter works for a well known chain. When I visited last week, got my eyes tested and am waiting on delivery. When was the last time you had a test....me.......5 years ago.

Ok so where are your glasses now.....me....lost them......and when did you loose them........ummm 6 months ago!

Crazy isnt it.....could of bought 100's pairs with what I would gamble!

Oh and on TV front..........reason I couldn't get it to work was I hadn't plugged scart lead in properly..........Big family joke now!

Enjoy your day Shiny!

Ha ha thanks for the picture Shiny, I wouldn't know what to do with a fish that size though. Hope you've had a good week. I know where you're coming from with the glasses, I've put off wearing mine in public now for years and all I've been doing is saying hello to strangers whilst squinting. Also Maisie's spent the morning pulling grey hairs out of my head saying 'take the pain Granddad.' kids are cruel, life is cruel but we all can't be like Joan Rivers. Have a gr8t weekend, be assertive, confident, why not? Lesser people than you do it. It's only bluff and bravado anyway.

Hi shiny

Change agh ! I hate that word and esp as we get a little older in life , it's all I hear with work but yet we av to deal with it and we do

When we look back at our lives though and the change we av gone through then we should be more than capable of dealing with it , we changed without really realising we're doin it our soul focus on not gambling rarely gives us the chance to take anything else on board and digest it

So we should take that moment for us to be proud of what we av done and achieved we av changed and for the better

This mornin us British will be waking up very proud of our achievements in the Olympics , all the dedication commitment and hard work the athletes av put in

We may not be Olympians but we should be proud of our efforts , so this mornin we are the unsung hero's of team GC

Thoughts always with u

Yo,

Having trouble sleeping tonight , so thought I would post . Works ok, been asked to carry on and visit a few more sites so won't be home till Wed.

The new project seems to be going down well , so nice to deliver something positive for a change .

Read awayouts diary last night, well most of it .

Really hit home how fragile recovery is , it was a diary full of honesty with lots of straight talking from the people on this site at the time , of which a few are still around today .

if you read this awayout , I wish to thank you for what your diary has given me , and say that I take my hat off to you , for your continuing to battle this bloody addiction .

All is well with me , no urges, nothing more to say .

Shiny.

Good morning night owl!!

I hope you get some r&r later this week through your ever hard efforts in your job, did wonder if you had passed my home town as walking the hound at early o'clock this morning the sun was a beaming!!!!!

Keep making the right choice, it simply is so good to read that your recovery continues to beat through the forum.

Thankyou.

Yo,

Once again having trouble sleeping .

Should not be a problem as another 13 hour day again today . Winning the hearts and minds of folk is hard work. But rewarding .

One more day to go then home , miss my bed , miss my family , miss my dad .

But like I said only one more day . Thinking they might send away again soon , but will tell ummmmm , not next week , do not like leaving dad for toooooo long .

But I am sure my boss will give me a pass .......

So that's it really once again , life in the middle lane , is ok, not slow enough to get bored , come to a stop and start looking for an adrenaline rush .

Not soooooooo frantic disappearing into the world of escapism ( standing in front of a FOBT )

Me think I stay in the middle , feel safe in there,

Goodnight one and all.

Shiny xxxxxxxx

Ps just watched the dispatches programe on betting shops in the high street.

A lot of pictures of FOBTs being played , balls going round , numbers coming up . Made me feel very uncomfortable . Lost site a bit a program's content but found myself being hypnotised by the FOBT s . If you were an FOBT addict beware, do not think it will have me banging on a door to bet at 9am , but will most defo be on my guard for a week or two that's for sure !!!

Morning,

Thanks for the post as ever! Not sure I quite arrange my peas altho my dad is a little OCD with stuff like spoon counting etc so maybe I'll develop this trait! Actually, I do struggle with mess especially in the kitchen I have to clean on the go otherwise it overwhelms me leaving it all to the end! I'm a quirky sod really!

So, apart from a couple of slight deviations you appear firmly fixed in that calm middle we speak so highly of! I think it's a very under rated position and many more people should strive to join us! You see if something brilliant happens you don't have to worry about being so elated that the fall is too large when the elation has gone! The flip side is when a storm comes you won't fall so low that you can't clamber back up!

So, what next for you? Is there a specific challenge this week? I guess the most important thing will be to get some much needed sleep!

You have yourself a pleasant day and stay right where you are as you seem quietly content right now!

Hey Shiney,

Thanks for your post as always you was right lol. One more day shiny your on the home stretch and then you can return home to the people you love and miss. Its draining being away from home it always seems to affect me to especially combined with 8 hour drives.

I watched the despatchs programme to 157 million lost each year on FOBT machines alone.... And there not a problem.. Are these people living in the real world. ! Made me even more determined that those greedy gambling establishments wont get one more single penny of my money or one one second of space in my head.

Meet you in the middle...

Oh i was wondering if i could join your G.B Nag team and we could NAG jonb into submission to come out of his golf bunker and bloody post..

Enjoy your day.. Home ward bound soon.
