Day 106. Feeling good, and doing what a lot of people are doing after the festive period/new year and trying to be more healthy. Got a treadmill in the Black Friday sales so time to make the most of that and get in better shape. Something to aim towards and to keep me busy!

Seen a lot of new members join recently. I'm not really the best person to give advice, but the one big thing I would advise is to try and tell someone close to you.

I feel a bit of a cheat saying this as I had no option other than to tell my other half as I would have got caught, but I can honestly say it's made things so much easier! I have someone to check up on me, and to talk to should I need it. I know that if I even slightly give into temptation the missus will be all over me (and not in a good way!)

It is such a tough thing to do, and if I'm being honest, had I have not had my hand fourced I probably would have kept it a secret, but I'm so glad it happened.

In the words of Nike, "Just do it"

It will help massively in your recovery.

Buying a treadmill is probably the best investment I've made in a long time. I do 10 k
5k alternative days at the minute
I'm shattered when I get off lol.
Bit of advice get good running socks because they will save you from injury.

All the best dude

Cheers as always for stopping by mate. Well done on your accumulation day of days.

I remember you saying you had got a treadmill when I posted about running last year. Impressive distances there my friend especially that frequently. I bet you feel the benefit. I find I have to cover up the time on the screen as I clock watch, and then it Drags!

I know what you mean about the time dragging. It took me about a month to get into it. Since new year I have been doing hitts on it which consists of 1.30 jogging then 3.30 sprinting. When you hit minute 5. 1.30 of jogging again and so on until you hit your 5 or 10k. All depending on what you're doing it for. I'm doing mine to lose weight. I've managed with a diet included to lose 7lb since Saturday. So that is spurring me on. How you getting on with yours?

7lbs is brilliant, well done! Yea you certainly seem to have a good routine, and the sprints will really help as it's similar to high intensity interval training. Sounds like it's going really well.

I'm doing it to loose a bit of weight and maintain fitness. I have been doing 5km each day this year, but I have the treadmill at its top speed which means the quickest I can do 5km in is 21:28 which I can do. I now need to increase the incline or the distance. Will look to do that next week. Aiming for 100km this month. You sound like you will be closer to 200km!

21.28 is pretty decent tbh
It's probably only 6 minutes shy of club level.

I don't run next week I do hitts training because I've been advised to alternate the routine to trick the body into shedding more weight. Once you get used to say running your body knows what's coming and will adjust. Then your weight loss slows. So their best advice was mix it up.
Sounds like you're doing well to dude. Keep it up

Not posted for a few weeks, but all still good and 123 days strong. Really don't even think about gambling at all during the week. Occasionally I wonder what I would have put on during a game at the weekend, but it goes no further than that.

The Tennis started this week and that's normally a big thing for me. Haven't really paid any attention to it which is a shame as I do enjoy it, but it does really remind me of gambling, so for the sake of staying GF I'm just going to continue to read up on results rather than watch the match.

Have a good weekend guys.

Just touching base. Not added an entry to the diary or been on the site for a while.

Still 165 not out. I'm now in a position where i have paid my Fiancee back after she cleared my debt which is great. I have my social life back as i now have money to be able to do things. I have been able to buy tickets for sporting events and stand up comedy, which are two things i love and would never be able to do this time last year as all my money would have been wasted online, and i was still kidding myself that i could get out of this mess.

90% of the time gambling couldn't be further from my mind. The other 10% of the time the occasional thought will sneak in. For example i had £10 in my paypal account, and for a split second i thought....maybe just a £10 acca?!?! And that is where i feel i have changed the most. Straight away i knew it was a bad idea because of what it may lead to. The fact i would have to reset my day count and explain to my other half what i had done. It just isn't worth it!

Anyway i hope everyone else is doing well, and digging in deep through the hard and rubbish times to beat this.

Trust me....it gets better.
