It's when times are tough and we don't resort to our comfort zone, gambling, then we can say we are making progress - you certainly are making progress Suzanne!

Good morning diary.

695 days today of winning simply by abstaining and maintaining my life back.

All the painting and decorating done, house looks bright and clean but still no sale yet:)) ( really thought we would have sold it by now ohh well)

Sad news at the weekend, daughter inlaws uncle (never met him) but he was run over by a hit and run driver in Cornwall, and sadly got killed. This really does put our lives into perspective, we are really quite fragile in this big planet, and we really don't know what is around the corner, so why put fat on the fire by gambling our mental, emotional and physical health away. cos that is all we get from this addiction, pure misery that is self inflicted.

I will never wiin with gambling, but I do actually win every single day by abstaining and maintaining.

It's a lifestyle choice and I know I make the right choice on this one every day, and that can only be positive.

Gambling is a total waste of time, and how can it be entertaining and relaxing, when it does deep fry our brain(thanks Suzylemon)

Wishing everyone a strong, positive and calm gambling free day.

Suzanne xx

Hi Suzanne,

Hope you're well! Just a quick thing on selling your house, it took about 3 months to sell mine and I finally did it by taking control of the viewings. The estate agents all looked about 12, and having been present on a couple of the viewings I realised they really weren't selling what made the house a home, or the benefits of the area aside from the odd bland statement. After all, it's you who really knows your house, your area etc. Have you tried doing the viewings yourself? Best of luck anyway, it's a stressful time always having to have the house look like a show home whilst getting on with normal life! 5 Days away from 700 - woohoo!

Sunny Suzanne,

A flyer... re. house sell.

You have guilted me in how you've painted your house and yet I'm still 50% of my small 1 bed flat..

But the point I'm coming to is if you look at the house selling stats or check out best time to sell a house on google, is just coming up..April to July

So, not long now, im sure you'll have another house to paint.

Hi Suzanne, nothing beats the fresh smell of paint just like nothing feels as good as being gamble free. However, it can an age for the job to get done; preparation, blocking up the cracks and covering the furniture to protect it from the occasional spillage/drip but the end product is something to be proud of. We can sit back and relax, enjoying the fruits of our labour however, we must always be wary and carry the tools to help us when things sometimes go awry - filler for the occasional c rack which may appear, paint to freshen up when things get a bit faded. Quite smimilar eh?

Yes, Annie is bored so be prepared for more of this!! But, seriously you are an inspiration to me (us), after such a fantastic length of abstention I admire your honesty when you feel vulnerable but your determination to carry on with your life unhindered by the evils of gambling is formidable. It has shown me that there is no shortcut on this road of recovery, and in order to stay on the path you have to accept that it is a long haul journey.

Thank you xxxx

Hi Suzanne,

You've been here ever since i began my up and down journey and i find your progress and achievements amazing.

Im sorry to hear about the death in your family, it really puts things into perspective.

My friend died on Saturday in Brazil when a car illegally overtaking went head on into his car. He died along with his mother in law and niece but his wife son and sis in law survived.

Its so awful and really makes you appreciate life.

i also totally understand when you say about appreciating life and thinking straight as ive been through it even after a few days abstaining

Im happy to be here active again and will witness you reaching 700 days soon.

keep smiling

Mba

Hi Suzanne,

Glad to read that your still winning, by not gambling. Deep fried brain is not good for our mind thats for sure 😉

Hope you have a good easter and your house sale with follow in time am sure.

I remember a friend from GA, who was trying to sell his flat. He spoke many a time of his frustrations with the lack of sale, but eventually it did sell for the price that he wanted. patience was the key.

Regards...S.A 🙂
