Hi again LB. Great to hear that you're doing well. I'm back for my third attempt somewhat shamefaced, but hopefully wiser.

Would be great to get an update to hear how you are doing.

Thanks for your support in helping me to try and overcome my struggles.

Simon

Hello Diary

Thanks wp, S.A and Simon for your posts..

Day 28 today without a gamble...or a drink..

I don't miss the gambling but am beginning to really miss a few cans when i get a day off, but so far so good..

Been working non stop since my last post, but am off now till Wednesday.

Its also nearly that time again....Yep, payday on Tuesday and i'm gearing myself up for a day of bill paying and getting a few things back up to date..(Quite excited about it really, like a big kid at christmas..sad i know ain't i)...Seriously though all i've focussed on these past few weeks is work and getting them hours in to get these 2 bills bang up to date...And come Tuesday i will achieve that goal..I will clear up all the arrears from these 2 bills.

Its a start, small steps and all that. Of course my loans and O/D charges etc will also all be covered as well..

f****** gambling..i hate it even more now when payday hits..What a terrible waste...Still whats done is done, no use dwelling on it..

So here i am again, almost at the 30 day mark.. This is where i've slipped so many times its unreal.. So got to keep on my guard..

Think later today i'm gonna go out and buy myself once again "The Sopranos boxset" ,The complete collection.... I've always been a huge fan of the show, watched every episode when they hit the TV on C4 over all those years. Then brought all the boxsets as they came out 1 by 1 ... Then pawned the lot just over a year ago to get more money to gamble with..

Love the show, my favorite of all time and it would be great to go get them back again..

So thats the plan.. Made well over 70 quid in tips these past 6 days at work so that will cover them and as others have already said it will be good to treat myself to something....Its been way too long since i last brought something like that for just ME..

It will also give me something else to fill my time with when i am not working..

Yep bring on Tony and his 2 families..lol..

So steadily marching onwards

Feeling if i'm honest... In a good place

I will not, i bloody will not throw it all away again..

Guards up... more determined than ever before..

I'm gonna have 2 very good days..

Enjoy your week everyone..

londonbloke, good to see you doing so well...you could buy a s/h set of the Sopranos on ******* or to save a few quid try downloading a torrent program then go to, for example, 'pirate bay' (google it) & DL the lot. tc

here we go agin..

ain't gambled but "stella" rang and then captain morgan only went and knocked on my door asking if i could spare somme ice straight after...How weird is that..

No gambling i'm pleased to say, but the other bit of mt recovery has ended!!!!

too bloody weak thats my problem..

I ought to go get some sleep..

30 quid on booze is still be@ter than 500 in a machine

Ain't it???

Hi Lb.. I totally agree with wp.. don't do what i did and get P***** and then gamble the rest away. Must admit i always thought it was unrealistic to try and give up both. Ive tried that route and it didn't work for me. Break that link between booze and gambling. Its the gambling that brings us to our knees. If you want any reminders just read my diary from a week ago. All the best.. S.A 🙂

Hi LB.

Just popping by to offer my support as i know payday for you falls around the end of the month and that it is normally the hardest time for you.

If you do get any urges then read back over the posts you have made on your diary over the last few weeks. You have been a picture of positivity and long may it continue.

You know it makes sense!

Drinking in moderation is OK in my opinion. Like you say, far, far better than throwing away 4 figures in plastic cabinets with flashing lights.

Hope that you managed to get through payday without any problems, do keep us posted.

Have a great gamble-free weekend.
