Last night I made plans to see my friend who I haven't seen for 16 months! we were gonna go and get some burgers for lunch and hang out. I got paid this morning and I put some money aside for food, gas, internet, electricity and activities and then put the rest onto pokerstars. After an hour I lost all the money and I had £30 left which was supposed to be for food and drinks for the meet up but instead I messaged him and lied saying I had another meeting which I forgot about and then I used the money for poker.

I feel terrible because I really wanted to see him but my gambling got in the way.

Hi Sirjammy

It does sound like your gambling is harming you financially and socially. Please keep posting - perhaps use this thread as your ongoing diary to record how you're feeling about your gambling, and any consequences of your gambling. Then you can consider if you would like to make a change to your gambling behaviour.

Take care,

Forum Admin.

Hi sir jammy, you can do this. I played golf for the first time in ages today, I've made excuses all year until today. Usually I'd spend Friday afternoon gambling and putting off a beer or golf with mates. Luckily my friends have stuck around. I feel so much better for doing so and I'm sure you will too. Do your best to rearrange as I'm sure your friend would appreciate it. Good luck
