Day 11 bet free. Hard process..keep mind busy. Dont watch racing on c4. Dont read papers. Avoid gambling conversations. Carry very little cash.

But its good to be gambling free ..early days. Mind feels very focused and clear!

Keep on keeping on

Day 14. Having some problems with work(non gambling related)..dont want to say because il be easy identified by someone. Getting me down but hopefully it works out.

Still betfree crucially. Weird but im a huge huge sports fan and iv ignored sport watching/following completely since i stopped gambling. I did this because it stops TEMPTATION. Iv ignored watching racing..football...and the hardest PGA golf. I do this to continue recovery.

I check in this site daily...it helps to read how every1 is doing and hearing some people reminds me to keep my guard up!

Keep on keeping on

Day 16. Its amazing how much money lasts longer whilst not gambling..it really does. Still very much in debt and not paid off much but i suppose only trying to hang on and survive these early stages...ie eat and pay general living costs.

All is ok-ish.still betfree. Keep on keeping on

Hi JJ it's good to see you posting away still. There will be up and down days, I would describe my recovery so far as a never-ending rollercoaster. Plenty of ups and downs in the bginning but the longer it goes on the less bumps there will be and smoother the ride gets. It's on those down days when lifes problems take their toll we must be vigilant. Take it one day at a time whilst keeping the bigger picture in perspective. Sometimes we get too caught up in our destination and disregard our journey along the way. The journey is what's important, it will mould us into the people we'll be in a year, 2 years etc. down the line. Embrace the journey as bumby as it may be!

Keep moving forward

Time is a healer. Its a long hard road but a rewarding one!

Day 19...no real urges...no real challenges as far as gambling concerned. Have avoided tabloids...c4 racing and gambling talk which has helped.

Think when football starts il have the usual conversation in my head ' wee weekly football bet do no harm'. I must stay strong because when i gamble i am no good to anyone. I am moody..unmotivated and distant.

Lets beat this awful addiction!

Keep on keeping on

Day 23 in justjosephs tiny brain. Things are not bad. Still betfree. At a transition in my life where i need to do something with my life in terms of work. In a dead end job..need to make a move i think. Perhaps all my gambling over the years has clouded my judgement . When gambling ...all other departments of my life have taken the back burner and not mattered

Well done on the 23 days Justjoseph. Good to see you still doing well.

In a similar situation work-wise.

Sooner you take action the better. Hit a brick wall myself on the job front but put a lot of effort in earlier this year and found it a great distraction from gambling.

All the best

Glint

Day 32 ..alot of ground to make up before im debt free. Hoping to finally have a good christmas were financial worries dont sink me and bring me down!

Important to get the balance right between not focusing too much on debt and leaving meself short for occasions. Its hard to accept all the money is gone....but your health is your wealth!

Hi JJ just dropping by. Well done on the 38 days, as someone at my local meeting would say it's 38 miracles. Have you been using anything else to aid in your recovery i.e. counselling etc? Even just reading the GA literature helps me through the difficult days.

All the best
