Twelve weeks done...almost 13.
That's three whole months. My life has changed so much for the better.
I saw my parents in person this weekend for the first time in ages. We were having a general chat about finances, and about how some people have managed to save during lockdown and I dropped into the conversation that I haven't gambled for three months and was enjoying watching sport more as a result.
It felt good to tell them. There was no further pressing or questioning.Â

I'm great, thanks, Holly. I really appreciate you checking in.
Now 15 and a half weeks.
The biggest development for me this week was that, as pubs have properly reopened this week, I've been to the pub twice, had a few drinks and the idea of betting didn't even cross my mind - even when I overhead a few conversations among other people.
In fact, it's made more aware of how preoccupied on gambling some people are when watching a match in the pub.
It's almost like I have a different brain - it's a great feeling.
Anyway, how are you? It's amazing to hear you're still going strong after all this time. How has it been for you so far?
We should exchange contact details if you're still up for it, and if the mods would be kind enough to facilitate it.
Coming up to 19 weeks for me.
A big boost this week was that I travelled overseas, spent four of my seven nights watching sport (a mix of cricket and football) and had no temptation whatsoever to gamble.
I also shocked myself in that I was speaking to a couple of guys in a bar and gambling came up and I managed to say very early in the conversation that I'd given up a while back, without drawing too much attention to my problem and also without making it seem like I was 'disapproving' of casual gambling.
Twenty weeks. All good.
Well done on 20 weeks
Keep going strong you have done amazingÂ

Hey Holly - I'm really well!
I've not posted for a while, not for any bad reason - I just haven't remembered. Which is really good in a way. The idea of gambling hasn't even remotely crossed my mind, which is pretty decent considering the new football season has started and my matchday routine is fine and does not in any way include betting.
So altogether it's been 209 days.
How are things going with you?
Thirty one weeks - all good.
I feel like I can just watch any sport without the idea of betting on it entering my head.
But still I'm thankful for the bank ban which is a great back up, should I ever need it.

Hey Holly, thank you for posting. All is good at my end. It's been around 280 days and nothing, which is great. Gambling just doesn't come on my radar anymore in anyway.
How are you getting on?
Affected by gambling?
