Well done on 11 days mate, brilliant and you are already a very valued and draw people to you, wanting to be your friend and to help you on their journey and in all situations we need your help too.

Hope your GA meeting went well, feeling down in the dumps one day often means the following day you will feel much better. Keep a close eye on your feelings, you are 11 days in and your emotions will be up and down but they will soon level themselves out.

Don't be harsh on yourself even though I think we all beat ourselves up from time to time.

I know I need you mate, I will still be following your diary and I will draw inspiration from your successes.

I myself need some professional help I have decided, I do think I am suffering with a mental illness of some sort, so I have checked myself in to get my nut well and truly examined.

You are doing well yourself but don't ever be afraid to talk to someone if you feel you are being dragged into a dark place. Something I haven't done enough of.

Have a good sleep with happy dreams.

Wilsy

Hi Flagg! Iv Been off here for a few days and thought I'd read a few diarys! Great to see such a great enthusiastic person starting a diary with such a positive state of mind! I went well over a year twice without gambling b4 something triggered something off! Don't know what! I first ran up 60k of debt paid a year off and relapsed adding another 8k relapsed last month adding £1400! In the last two years b4 my recent blip I'd paid of nearly 14k! I cannot be trusted with money I know that I may go a week, month year maybe without gambling but deep down I know if I have cash at some point I would gamble! Don't become to complacent! Keep the restrictions in place at all times I say! Good start to yr battle and keep strong pal

Good Morning Diary,

Day 12 - Well firstly I just have to say thank you to so many people yesterday! I mentioned I wasn't having the best of starts to the day and by the end of yday I'd got a massive outpouring of support from people on the site! I must confess I am blown away by how supportive virtually every person is on this site!

I attended my GA meeting last night and I found it too be very useful much like last week however, when I got home i found myself really down! I'm not sure if that's to do with the fact so many people are further along in their journey and I'm still in the early stages of wanting everything sorted now!

However, I'm much chirpier today and I'm fully aware that things can't be fixed overnight this is a day to day battle and so far I'm winning so that's enough to keep me going for today! I've got a fairly busy weekend ahead works night out this evening which will be thrilling I'm sure! The rest of the weekend will be much better tho and I have that to look forward to!

I hope everyone has a stress free gamble free day!

Day 12 - Back to being Cheerful

In hopefully 2 years time one loan and cards will be paid off so If I do the same shel be drawing an extra £490 out. Fingers crossed eh! Keep it going pal!

Good Morning,

Day 13 - Just a quick post as im off to football in a sec. Ill be back later today as there are a couple of diaries I have been keeping up to date with. As tough as our own battle is it's always good to offer support to others. We are all in this together (I have never seen high school musical but im sure that's a song).

Anyway yesterday was pretty good from a gambling perspective no thoughts or urges. I also took the huge step of telling my dad about my problem. Was nice to share my issues and I now know I have so much support around me, very fortunate really.

Went on a works night out last night and that was pretty dull. However, I got home safe and sound tucked up in bed by 11 (How old am I again).

Tomorrow i'm taking the three people closest to me out for dinner. That already feels great and I havn't got their yet.

It's the weekend again so the gambling urges will surface but ive got almost two weeks of strength and determination to build on.

So much for a quick post eh!

Wishing all a pleasant day.

Day 13 - We are all in this together.

How great will that feel later when you pay for dinner?

Well done on your 2 weeks eve, and yes you are right , we are all in this together. Strength in numbers my friend. ( and for me that does not mean any number between 1 and 36 )

Have a great weekend,

Dusty.

Now that you have shared and released all of your inner emotions, there can only be one way from here...

...UP!

Diary,

Hello Day 14, Hello 2 weeks! Hello Sunday! I hate Sundays. That is what I usually tell myself yet today my mood is bright, and I have something to look forward to.

Not much to say other than that today.

The best Sunday I have had for a very long time. To anyone reading this do not underestimate how good it feels to make others smile sometimes.

It is still very very early in my recovery but today was really lovely and those closest know I hate sundays so that is quite something for me to say that!

2 weeks down a lifetime to go!!

Scary but very possible!

Hi,

Thank you for your message.

Smiling is for me the best therapy. I have had many a chuckle from the posts I have recieved and consider myself very fortunate to be part of this site.

If I am honest I would not have made it this far without the support I have recieved from the amazingly people on this site.

Well done on your 2 weeks, I know the journey is a tough one, but together we stand a chance of making it through.

Sleep well , my friend ,

Dusty

Hello Day 15,

Monday morning and the mood is bright! I'm hoping that having survived the first two weeks I can now hopefully begin to live life exactly how I have the last two weeks free of gambling everyday, free of the stress that it brings on an almost daily basis!

Honestly I havnt been happy every day in the last 2 weeks but I've come to the conclusion things can only get better living this new life and I have managed to clear all my what I have termed personal debt i.e to family and Friends! So now it's just the long slog clearing the rest to the card companies and banks!

Here is to another successful week fingers crossed!

Day 15 reflective!
