70 days GF. I do miss gambling I am not working at the moment & temptation is everywhere reading the stories on here does help. Gambling for a CG just brings misery. Roll on the summer

You can do it Redham. I know you mentioned being off work well I work full time and my real struggle is weekends. Today though, I have plans. My boyfriend had to go to work early and normally I would gamble when he'd gone but today my first port of call was making a cuppa and found myself reading your story instead. Keep going and I will be following your story. I am currently on Day 7.

Thanks LHN. I hated my old job so cashed out when they offered redundancy thankfully I gave most of it to my wife so I only managed to waste £2k of it ha 'ONLY!!' he says. My old job could be stressful & as I worked flexi time I could basically pop out to the bookies whenever I wanted. I must have wasted weeks trying to escape. Gambling can rob you of time as well as money. I just read your story LHN well done on addressing your problem now you say you haven't lost thousands but don't waste anymore time on something so destructive & risky. Thanks for your support.

It is lucky you gave some to your wife. I had the urge yesterday. I kept myself busy for most of the day until about 4pm. At that point I found myself with a spare 5 mins and hovered over the deposit button. I realised in a weak moment that my tablet didn't have K9 software and that I'd forgotten to self exclude from one of my accounts. I sat there for 10 minutes staring at it but then put my phone down and started on the washing up. I have absolutely no idea how I managed to do it but I did and I feel better for it today. Day 8 for me!

Back to day 1! No excuses I just didn't fight the urge. From ВЈ200 up in the bookies I left £400 down. I am not earning at the moment so I've cleaned out my bank account. So stupid. Hardest part is telling my wife. I don't add up to much as a person at the moment, I need to wake up. What a waste almost 150 days gf. Stupid to kid myself 'I have a problem with gambling'

Hi Redham.

Sorry to hear this - 101 days is a great achievement and it just goes to show that this is something you can do again. Yes, you will be really hurting right now (I went two years and six months)! Please don't see this as a fail because it is not. Maybe see it as more of a test and a reminder that it can just creep up on us and therefore, we need to be really strong and think beforehand of how we can deal with this.

New day, new start. The days will soon mount up again. At the end of the day, you have been very honest and that stands for something.

Take care and remain strong.

Thank you Our Lady I needed some kind words it's much appreciated. It was a wake up call. I didn't enjoy the experience it just felt like a fail from the start. I recognise the weakness in myself I am rubbish when I am tired & strung out. I wish I'd never started gambling. Wow 2 years & 6 months! Hopefully you can beat it for good.
