Thanks stu,
The blocks remain in place, no access to bank accounts In place, a desire never to gamble again. Too much to loose. Already lost far too much and I don’t mean money.
Here is to a better 2019. Wishing everyone a merry Christmas.
Hi Sarahs16

Wishing you all the best for 2019

Nye and 87 days gamble free.
I vow that during 2019 I shall not gamble.
The last 87 days have been a huge rollercoaster of ups and downs.
Thanks to my amazing supportive partner my home life is good! Work is work, bank balance a tad healthier, debts being repaid.
All blocks still in place. No access to bank account, gamstop in place ( god send ), Counselling still ongoing.
Thinking I may even pay for further Counselling once my sessions end because I find it good to be able to talk freely.
Other family relationships still in tatters - not really sure how to go about these. I know that this is going to bring more ups and down during 2019 and this makes me anxious.
However, overall I am proud. Proud that I am on the journey. Proud that I am no longer that person that lies daily.
So here is to me and all you guys on this same journey. Happy new year!
Sarah

Hi al,
I am good thank you. Currently busy with caring for my grandad at home whilst working full time, house, partner, son etc. Things been a tad hectic. Was only saying to my partner the other day that I needed some chat time. I regularly bob on and catch up on stories.
Still gf. 100 days tomorrow. Blocks remain in place. Partner has finances. Still attend weekly counselling.
Hope you’re well al.
Take care,
Sarah
Dear Sarah,
just wanted to congratulate you on 100 days gf. Your life does sound hectic right now so make sure that you have some nourishing me-time to recharge. When you are in recovery keeping busy is very important, but if there is no time for yourself it can be detrimental.
Wishing you all the very best on your ongoing journey.
Keep posting and keep the focus.
All the very best,
Eva

Congratulations Sarah on 100 days gamble free.
I sincerely hope you can stay away from the gambling and learn to forgive your past mistakes. You never set out to cause anyone pain or suffering, you simply had an affliction.
Loved one's can be supportive although they may need time to adjust and come to terms with what they might view as betrayal.
Some people might get up on their high horse and treat us with disdain. There is not a lot we can do about that because they may well be hiding behind there own issues.
There is one person who will always be there throughout your life and that person is you. Please treat yourself compassionately. Give yourself the respect, kindness and understanding you deserve. Remember also, that if we want other people to love us than we must learn to love ourselves.
I do hope all your blocks are in place and your partner is helping to manage the finances. The addiction is never far away and if we are ever feeling vulnerable, sad or lonely it may well come knocking on the door, masquerading as a friend.
Self discipline does help, common sense is of paramount importance and we must never lose hope in a better tomorrow... stephen.
Hey Sarah. Congratulations on reaching 100 days gf. I agree with self sufficent, forgive yourself. You can't change the past, concentrate on your future! We can all beat this. Stay strong.
Congrats Sarah on reaching 100 days without gambling, great going, agree with above comments let go of the past, forgive and be kind to yourself, keep your blocks strong .... there will be some hard times along the way but the longer you can abstain the better things will become ... all the best.

Thanks everyone for taking the time to comment.
I hear what you’re saying self sufficient but it’s easoer said then done when I have hurt someone so close.
All blocks are in place and continuing my counselling.
100 days gf felt like a life time away when I began my recovery. Onwards and upwards, one day at a time! I shall not gamble! Despite life being difficult at times being gf is a better life!
Fingers crossed for a reconciliation with my brother. If I could achieve that then I really would have won the jackpot!
Thanks again everyone, with this site and your support I do not believe I would have reached 100 days. You guys are my listening ears and an inspiration.
