Well Done Moorey . Its 4 days gamble free . Great your running and remaining positive . Not gambling on payday is a big achievement . Wishing you well over the coming weekend and throughout your recovery . Take care ... Stephen
Day 4 safely negotiated!...
No real urges as yet but I'm aware they're never too far away.
The key is to make sure I'm ready and prepared for the first set of them.
For now though, I'm happy with how things are going. I've been out for a meal and drinks tonight and have not worried about the money which I could be using for gambling purposes.
Happy weekend everyone!
5 days gamble free.
Had another 10km run today. Watching the footy tonight is tough and is the closest I've come to having the urges to place a bet. But I'm reminding myself of those dark places that gambling takes you.
I'm far happier without gambling in my life, whether I'm winning or losing. It's funny that we still carry on though, despite all that.
How our minds work!...
Anyway, I'm going to celebrate with a pint...of water. On a health kick.
Well done on getting through another day. Enjoy your pint.. of water 😉
Stay strong you are doing really well!
6 days now since my last bet.
The hurt of losing £340 last weekend is beginning to ease.
I've also downloaded an app called 'Quit that' which tells me how much money I've also saved from not gambling.
All in all I'm feeling much happier going into the working week than this time last week. 🙂
Hi Moorey.
Thanks so much for posting a supportive message to me a few days back. I like the start to your diary. Full of positivity. I'm going to steal that £1 idea also!
Keep making the right decisions.
No probs Curly!... 🙂
I find it's a great reward for me to end and celebrate the gambling free day.
7th day now complete. A whole week without gambling.
Small beginnings, I know.
But we all have to start somewhere. Onto week 2....
Day 8 safely negotiated....
Urges are still there but I have to remember why I want to pack in this evil addiction. The bad times are just too bad!
The 'good' times only lead you closer to the path of doom.
So what's the point. Better to stay happy and gamble free? It's a certain yes!
Day 9 almost complete for me.
No big news. Another pound into the collection jar for Moorey 🙂
It's growing!...
Well done on your journey so far, you'll almost have a tenner soon!
Stay strong and keep believing in yourself.
12 days gamble free.
Still a long way to go for me to go on my road to recovery but it's a start. Pretty pleased with how it's going.
I have money to spend on going out and enjoying myself instead of reloading more and more money onto my betting account.
Had a great night last night!
Morning Moorey . Many thanks for your great post in my diary which will boost my determination not to gamble .
Well done yourself . That first 12 days can be a.really rough ride . Wishing you well in your recovery ..... stephen
Day 13. Unlucky for some.
Not for me! Today I'm winning because I will not gamble!
It's as simple as that.
Have a great Sunday peeps 🙂
Today marks two weeks gamble free!
It's only the start though. I have to go on....
I'm generally a lot happier at the moment without gambling.
I still have the urges now and again but I'm reminding myself just how bad I feel when I lose.
Notice I say 'when' and not 'if'.
Moorey
Day 15 - quite pleased with how things are going at the moment.
I'm not missing or thinking about gambling as much as I thought I would be. Maybe because there's not any football on at the moment.
I'm just taking it day by day.
Any urges that I get, I just remind myself of all the hard work I have put in so far and how I don't want that to go to waste.
Affected by gambling?
