So here I am 298 days into my recovery . So much has changed since I gave up gambling , I've managed to save up a fair bit of money and I couldn't help but think if this was a year ago 80% - 100% of my savings would not be there today ! I've managed to get a steady full time job so no more chasing money . In all honesty I think besides my gf getting a constant income has helped me the most giving up , where as before I would be owed £500 and only have £50 in my pocket it would push me to take desperate measure aka the Devils wheel ! But with a constant income I don't feel the need to look else where for money I know it's going to be there every month and I've even been working most weekends to bulk the pay up , so I guess instead of finding the easy fast way to get money I've now opted for the hard work option which is a much better feeling ! .. Hopefully moving into a nice 2 bed house soon to which is a big move for us ! ... Couldn't be happier at the moment i couldn't go back to the way I used to be always not knowing how much money I would have not knowing how I'd get through the next week ! Quitting gambling has saved my life and changed my life ! Thanks to everyone involved I'll be back in 2 days for the big 300 may even do something special with the missus just to say thanks to her !
So , 300 days gamble free today ! Seems like forever since I last gambled ! so much more freedom in my life without gambling ! I remember the days of not wanting to walk down a certain road because there were betting shops ! It's been a long journey but one I'm happy I've taken ! Got our moving day is next Friday so another new chapter to my life is starting , and all within a year of last gambling ! Just shows how much ur life can change if u really want it to and have the help there !
Congrats on 300 days that really is a great effort. Sounds like so much has changed for you, and for the better too.
It's nice to read how people have turned it around and are moving into a life without gambling.
