Welcome back 4everhopeful,
I am sorry you got gripped again by that horrible destructive addiction, and pleased you have not given up.
Don't be too hard on yourself, this addiction is hard to arrest,.
As you say one day at a time, and changes, and they are very big positives to start with,
Once you have sorted the creditors out it will take a lot off your mind. (Hopefully you won't have to do the bankruptcy route) there are other options, step change are very good at advising people in our situation.
Sending you strong and positive thoughts
Take care and be kind to you
Suzanne xx
Thank you Suzanne,
Your kind words were just the boost that I needed today, thank you! 🙂 Hope you are keeping well?
I have just confessed all to my sister (who is also my best friend) it was so hard putting it all out there and being completely honest but I needed to do it. I cannot keep living a lie, smiling on the outside and crushed and suffocated on the inside. I am thankful for the people that I have in my life, my family especially and they will help me to stay determined and focused to beat this addiction.
xx
Hi 4evahopeful, just dropping by to welcome you back to recovery & offer my support!
I am sorry to hear about your father & am glad that you have realised gambling is not the solution to your fear! Well done for tackling the money head on, once it is done, you won't need to waste another second on the vile addiction! Good on you for finding the strength to tell your sister, hopefully she can provide the physical support you need alongside what we can offer!
