lucy just read your diary, its amazing, you have positive way of thinking and i admire you cause you were sometimes very close to gamble but you didnt do it!that means a lot to me cause on my first relapse i blew very easily thousands of euros.

Today feels pretty d**n good!

It's been a real tough 7 weeks with many, many, many hurdles to cross but hey i'm doing it 🙂

A few wobbles along the way but the main thing is i chose not to go back down that lonely dark road!

I believe without this support i might have crumbled and given in to the urges to get lost again to hide from the challenges we must face to make our life better and for that i would like to thank all who have supported me so far.

THANK YOU

Today's positives:

I have NOT gambled

I've smiled all day ( now have jaw ache lol)

I've again encouraged young people to fight their battles and see with some positive changes to their life things can get better

Long may this continue and tomorrow is 50 DAYS!

Take care and hope all have stayed bet free

Lucy x

Hey Lucy,

Many thanks for the positive post on my diary! As always it's lovely to receive words of encouragement! My day has got better and I certainly havnt thought anymore about gambling so like you said dig deep enough and the positives can be found!

To you, I just wanted to say well done for the path you are taking so far! I've noticed you tend to post on the diaries of others even before your own! When gambling we easily slip into living a lonely selfish existence bit without it our true personalities can shine through! Your seems to be wonderfully caring and supportive and that is something you should be very proud of!

Lucy,

I just wanted to say during your recovery don't ever go on a works night out to a northern soul evening as its bloody depressing haha! I thought dealing with the gambling was hard enough!

In all honesty the reason for my post was just to check in really as its a bit unusual for you not to update your diary!

Hope you had a stress free gamble free day!

I'll start with a positive, i am now at 51 days 🙂

Felt strange yesterday getting to 50days , thought about what had happened over that time.

Lots of feelings of regret for the past came out and was really angry with myself for letting it get so out of control, angry for the money, angry i did'nt leave my ex earlier but most of all angry that i had let it get hold of me so bad.

i did'nt post yesterday as not in the greatest of moods and had to talk with the ex about house etc, did that and then got completley drunk, i think i am going to have to stop drinking as didnt really drink that much in the past but have been drinking most weekends, i can't handle the hangovers lol

Today i'm feeling really strong about not gambling 🙂 I know i'm not going to go back to it and must keep telling myself and reflecting on what would happen if i did!

I havent put many blocks in place but am going to get gamblock for the computer , i am not going to leave it to willpower even if i believe i can do it!

Positives:

I have not gambled

I am happy with the choices i have made so far in this journey

I have a great mate who supports me so much in this

My hangover is clearing a bit lol

Hope all stay bet free today

Lucy x

hi lucy and well done again for the 50 days bet free.even if you feel strong about not gambling, put the gamblock for the computer.its better having it installed and know that you cant gamble.

went back from the cofee, feelings are mixed up, thinking about the money i lost...i could have done so many things...but we cant change the past but we can change the future.

stay strong and gamble free and we ll be here to celebrate your 100 days bet free

Those three (and the hangover one!) positives are the most important ones for you.

And a huge well done for making it to day 50. Now go for 100!

Hi

Thank you for your message of support.

Well done on your 50 days, we all have regrets, I suppose we would not be human if we didn't , sadly we can not change the past, I defo would of married my college sweetheart but do not tell my old man that.lol

But it gone and we owe it ourselves to make the best of our future. Without gambling ,we will give ourselves a chance, gambling only leads to more regrets.

Please be kind to yourself getting to 50 days , has not been easy and should not be underestimated. It took strength and determination. Long may it continue !

Hi Lucy

Well done on your perseverance in such trying circumstances. I know what you mean about the guilt and allowing yourself to let it get too far. I feel the same (or felt should I say), but I am learning to forgive myself and know that if I stop now, it's not too late to make amends and to turn my life around.

That is why I cannot go back and that is what is driving me. I feel it's the same for you.

Stay strong Lucy - we can do this - one day at a time! x
