Yo Alan. ..I was also going to write some heartfelt epic post congratulating you on your two year mark. ...but like Martin I also was out on the lash last night...bit more lady like ....drinking pressecco at a friends house...so on the lash is probally a bad way of putting it....however....the end result was the same.....in fact...probably worse...I logged on here last night to post to you...but actually couldn't find you're diary !
....so...my fav old duffer...my cod father...etc etc. ...it goes without saying that I'm made up for you. ..and this place wouldn't be the same without you....you've not just got to two years gamble free...you've helped me...and many others along our way embrace recovery and regain our lives as well....topman

Fella I am not one to measure recovery or rediscovery's success through how many days a person has abstained but I measure it on the change in their life.
You are truly a shining example of what the gift of abstinence offers.you have taken it and made change upon change.
For it be very proud, keep making the right choice for you and yours.
With regards to leaving the forum, my stance is simple, if it ain't broken then it doesn't need fixing.
I learnt that lesson the hard way myself.
I salute you,with strength and honour.
Maybe we will get to meet upon the place with the best view one day and have a chance to marvel at how amazing life can be.

@ Oldham , aka KTF but alway's Martin to me :)) , weve travelled many miles together in the last couple of years and shared many post's also in that time . Youv'e alawys been an absolute gentleman on ( not sure about real life ) but hey :)) , thank you for pulling me up when I've needed it , sharing the good and not so good times and for being that " Star wars " voice in my ear saying " Alan , this is your father speaking " when I needed a clip around the ear for overstepping the mark :))

@ Duncan , as always your words of wisdom jump out from the page , your right about the whole time or change idea , I guess as were in this for life the time really doesn't matter as it's as long as were here for but the changes' can be immediate and immeasurable and I really get that , I do however still get a little buzz watching another year slip by and realising the distance I've put between myself and that last bet .

Your also correct regarding leaving the forum , it's a place of safety for me where I'm able to speak with other likeminded folk when the need arises and as you so rightly put it " If it ain't broke don't try and fix it " .

That's a great view you mention and shows our city in a different light I believe and I'm sure one day we'll Chew over life and aburger at the same time :)) .

Oooohhh...I don't think much of that decision.

Seriously though, we've been through a lot of posts together, I won't let this come between us; the last thing I would want is you feeling like my unceremonious uprooting was in anyway your fault Alan (it definitely was d:-D).

I've been mature about it, accepted my upheaval, took it on the chin and have been to my local college to enrol in their Website Hacking for Beginners course.

Starts Wednesday.

Expect to login to the GamCare and find your diary has mysteriously been moved to the 'feedback' section someday soon Alan d;-)
