Hi woods welcome to recovery diaries. In pleased you did this and was nice chatting to you in the chat room. Stay close to this place mate. Also give gam care a call they will give you great advice. You've got off to a great start. You will experience many highs and lows but you will get through it

Well done for starting up a diary. I always tell people to start telling their tale as and when they're ready. I think it helps to bring some perspective as everyone's struggle is different.

One thing I will say is that I really believe gambling is a reaction to another action is that is going on in someone's life. There is a reason for gambling. I'll give some weird examples - someone may want to rebel because they were always being controlled so gambling let them rebel, it may be that they had no excitement because they were told what to do all day and gambling offered them a high etc etc. Neither of these are my issue but they were the first examples that came to my head. Person 1 needs to find the route of why they can't get free and Person 2 needs to work out why they aren't excited by life and what's stopping that.

Hope it makes sense.

Good stuff woods nice to meet in chat. I would definitely consider calling Gamcare about counselling it's free and is targeted to your needs probably a bit better than the one your work can offer you.
