Sorry I tried to create a new diary on my work computer today but it has a slow browser.

Thanks admin and triangle and Suzanne for the welcome back though that's very thoughtful.

No sob stories , back to day one. My sole focus is to reach 90 days and set myself up for the new year. That's my only and most important goal .

I'm proud of myself that I got through day one.

Fella never give up on giving up.

I hope you make changes to your life that will enable you to enjoy life

Because without doubt it is simply to brutal and to short for you to add self destruction in the form of gambling.

Turn that mantra upside down

I did win because I did stop.

As the saying in the GA room goes, give recovery 90 days commitment, if after those 90 days you don't see great change then by all means get back at it.

With irony 'I bet you do '

Commit wholly to recovery my friend, it will have a profound effect upon your life

Enjoy it, it is not the punishment addiction will have you believe

It is a gift

Abstain and maintain

Hey guys im only a week free from a bet but i need some advice.

Things in work arent going great. I have been in a few meetings but havent received any warnings.

However a main manager spoke to me this evening in private and said that there are disclpinary grievances coming my way and asked would i open to a cash pay off.

I said i wouldnt even consider a cash pay off unless it was something like a years salary but from speaking to him he was thinking more along the lines of 5k - 10k.

He said the worse thing that would come of the grievances is that i would get a warning, but that its not a situation where i could lose my job.

I dont have much dealings with this manager as he is high up. He seemed relaxed but prefered the idea to giving me money and me leaving rather than dealing with grievance meetings.

Really wanted to get that off my chest and get some feedback.

Fella glad to firstly read your gamble free keep making that choice.

Regarding your current work situation it smells a bit funny to me, often in life I believe that there is no smoke without fire.

What strikes me as strange is this fella is offering some form of cash payoff yet you are not being disciplined for any form of gross misconduct. Because that to me could constitute constructive dismissal.

If you face grievance procedure you should receive it in writing and a strict procedure will need to be adhered to.

The bottom line is addiction will be loving the thoughts of a windfall?

But jobs are hard to find, you have one surely unless there is a good underlying reason you should be fighting to keep it.

How long would a settlement last?

Do you have a new job to walk into?

Do you know what sort of reference your boss proposes to give you?

Lots of variables fella.

My advice seek professional advice, it's free and readily available.

Take it.

Look after yourself.

Abstain and maintain.

Thanks Duncs, i dont have a job to walk into. i dont have a cv and i dont even own a phone. I wouldnt just walk into a job.

The company have a history of this , im not the first person.

I dont think it would make sense for me to take a payoff and leave, i think that would have an extremely negative effect on my wellbeing.

Today i decided to speak to my team leader this mornung. I have felt like ive been bullied for a couple of months , but i said i wamted everything to be put behind us and to make a fresh start of things in the job.

I dont think change at this time would be good .
thsanks for the message the kind support guys. Through my own fault i have no one to talk to so i really appreciate having a place to speak
