Hi All

I am determined that this will be my final recovery diary. Over the last few years I have quit and then been tempted again. Each time I was tempted I would win a few hundred quid up to £1,000. However, like most of us on here I wouldn't stop and I would end up losing it and more. I have gone 50, 100 and even 200 days gamble free only to be tempted back (e.g. World Cup!!).

So last week I found one of the only sites I could join having self excluded from all the main ones, as well as the minor sites. Again a few good bets and a bit of luck and I soon found myself a considerale sum up. But then disaster as I soon whittled it away on casino and poor sports betting. Then today despite being level I had another hour on the casino and was down £1,600. So once again I have self excluded meaning I cannot gamble!

The reason for the title New Life New Me is not just the gambling. As of 2 July I move into a rented accommodation for a while as my wife and I are divorcing (not gambling related). We've been separated for over a year (living together) and we sold our house and am just waiting for her onward purchase to complete. Once the sale happens I will have enough equity to pay down 2/3 of my debt and for the first time I will have surplus money each month to save for a deposit. I'm very fortunate that I have a good job and can earn good money, but frankly it means nothing if I continue to lose it gambling. So what a better time to get my life in order and beat this terrible addiction once and for all.

So there it is all laid bare and open for all to read. I am definitely a gambling addict and I am determined to quit once and for all and to start a new life from Monday in all aspects.

Good luck to those in the same position. I will be scouring the forums to offer encouragement where I can as I believe it is a large part of how to quit.

Regards

Craig

Thanks shake the disease. I'm self excluded from practically all gambling sites now so hopefully no more temptation.

I am now 3 days gamble free so onwards and upwards. Got a busy schedule this week so may not get time to post, but once I have time I will be trying to offer advice and encouragement to others as I believe it is the key to success.

Hi All

What a hectic last month and a half! My ex wifes house purchase fell through meaning a delay in the sale of our house. The sale went through on Monday 6th August which meant for the last few weeks I have been packing and taking stuff to my new house. The good news is throughout all this time I've been too busy to even think of gambling. So as of today I believe I have been 41 days gambling free.

The other good news is I have found someone who I have clicked with and it has only been a few days, but I have told her about gambling and she has not run away.

Thanks for now

Craig
