Not a thought of gambling but it must have run my life. when i say not a thought im lying what i mean is ive no intention of gambling.

To be honest though ive never been so bored.I must have gambled ever spare second i had.Hey ill get used to it ive finally got money in my pocket.

So what would we rather have?

something to do followed by a raging headache, feelings of guilt, stomach churning and an empty pocket. OR a bit of bordom ,a loving family and enough money in your pocket to take you and the missus out.i think ill live with the boredom. keep going all and thanks for the posts Jeff.

HI JEFF

I like reading your posts, always positive and you see gambling for what it really is.

I find myself bored, all the time, i have to fill the day, gambling would make it more exciting i guess, but so would a living room full of naked ladies, both of which arent going to happen! Choosing not to gamble is defo the best thing, half an hour of so called fun followed by a week of misery. Nah....ill stick to the boring life, at least my mind is at peace and ease. Urges can come, ill beat the f**k outa them and carry on with no harm done. Ill be in control of my life from now on, not gambling controling me. keep up the good work Jeff.

Hi Jeff,

When u have stopped gambling, there is a massive void left to be filled. Those feelings of boredom I know only too well. But I'd rather be bored than the lying, manipulative, scheming shadow of a person that I became when gambling.

You are doing just great,

DT.

guys - this boredom thing...how do we fill the void ? it's ok having a certain serenity about us that non gambling brings, but when you've gambled for so long i'm struggling to replace it

Hi

I get what u mean with the boredom, before we wasted not only money but time when gambling.

Its hard but we all need to work hard to build up new routines which will eventually become normal, this is our real lives now.

I still shudder when I think of the heart beating highs and shuddering skahing lows of losses. The wired tiredness that only gamblers can relate too, the bottom of stomach slaming down when you wake up after a bad loss.

Bored is good LOL.

Seriously tho try anyhting you enjoy and bring in to your routine :-

Reading

DVD's

Music

Swimming

Gynm

Golf

Visiting friends

Painting

Cleaning

Evening/day classes

I could go on but You and only you can decide on what appeals.

Take care and have a good weekend

W x

How can i actually complain of boredom.

I work from 6 till 6 Monday to Friday. I go out either with my mates or the missus Friday night .I play darts,I race pigeons ,I play golf and go out to watch the football sundays. How much more do i need ive got plenty of things to do.Its all in my mind sureley.I know one thing today is only my 18th day gamble free but its strange you start thinking rationally and ive realised i neglected my family so today ive decided that with all the money ive saved and will continue to save im going to give them the best christmas we have had together. And 2010 is going to be a great year.I hope it is for you too. Jeff.

Hey Jeff

I like you, i like your posts, i like the determination. Dont think once you have come across negative or self pitying cr** that im guilty of to often. Great last post, you feel bored because you probably miss gambling, but like me, you simply cannot do it anymore. Just you make sure you stay that 1 month behind me, because im sure as hell aint caving in, Its now or never for me and im 7 or so weeks in so would be crazy to go back to day 1. no chance!!

Thanx for the post.

ps i bottled the bike run to the shops and opted for soup and bread, and now a big fat kebab on the way, courtesy of money i chose not to gamble with!!! cheers.

lol.. enjoy this evenings beverage consumption 🙂

In all seriousness, I think thats a realistic way to think about things.. one problem at a time. I tried several times to stop both at same time.. it just wasnt gonna happen. Cheers for now... S.A 🙂

Hi All

I had astrange day yesterday. I went out for a few beers with the lads Friday night which turned into a few more, and i didnt get in till about 2am.

My missus left me in bed till late to sleep it off (must have been talking all that s**t as we fellas do after a few beers).

Anyway was having a dream no infact i was having a nightmare about horses it was very realistic i could hear the galloping and the commentary i woke up feeling like cr** thought id give in .but a happy ending we had left the bedroom tv on all night and it was the first race on bbc1. I must have hade a good night it was gone 1 o clock in the afternoon.

Hi Mate

Bet it was nice waking up and realising, yes it was only a bad dream, whereas i have on many many occasions woken, and no it wasnt a bad dream, i really did hammer loads of cash into roulette the night before. You are doing great, keep it up, as you know i gambled yesterday and it wasnt pleasent one little bit, and bang goes the one month in front of you, but i sure as hope you never fall behind me, or i fall any further behind, not that its a race, but something to keep you going. Keep up the great work pal, sure your family are very proud of the new you.
