Hi Jeff... just wanted to add my congratulations on your continued recovery. Regards.. S.A
Jeff - I managed to find the first diary I started back in jan 10 and you were a regular poster on there then and just wanted to say hi and massive congrats on your recovery so far.
I really NEED to stay here this time and keeping reading and posting. It is therapy for me.
All the best mate.
Hi All
Thanks as always my good friends for the posts.
Well its reared its ugly head again, not gambling but the EX.
She has fallen out with her family and moved away. She has taken my son away from me yet again. She has changed her number so nobody can get in touch.
Why?
Well i havent got a clue, she hasnt even let me know.
Ok she may have fallen out with her family ,but why split me and my son up?
Of course i know when she wants something she will be back in touch.
Its a waste of time looking for her as it will only turn into an argument.
Any way not really had time to think about gambling ,but i give the ex money each week and ive got 4 weeks worth just sitting in the house. It hasnt been touched which would not have been possible during my gambling days so i think thats a step forward.
I would also like to thank you all for the congratulations of Man city getting to the final especially Viggo it must have been hard for him (man utd fan ).lol.
So apart from the ex ruining easter things are still going ok and its good to see you all staying strong. All the best Jeff.
Ps If you read this Curley im off to Ross on sea golf course today. Not played it before will let you know what its like.
Jeff - thanks so much for the post on my diary it means so much. Only Day 2 for me but I feel totally obsessed with doing it this time. I want to go a few months and see the money pie up and feel proud of myself.
Anyway really sorry to hear about your domestic problems today but I am convinced she will get back in touch soon and let you see your son.
Keep me posted how it goes.
I lost my wife last summer who is the best thing that's ever happened to me. My ultimate goal is to kick this b*****d addiction into touch and get her back.
Congrats on City as well I was so pleased for the City fans at Wembley the other day and good luck for the final. I was there in 2008 to see Pompey win it and was an incredibly proud moment. Are you going?
I have a memory of being stood at Havant station on the way down to Fratton for the match when the football special turned up crammed full of City fans. Looked like they were having a brilliant time singing some invisable man song??!!
Anyway that's enough for now. Stay strobg pal and let's not let these demons ever get their way again and continue enjoying life.
Best regards
Andrew
Sorry to read of your troubles Jeff...im not exactly happy the way im getting treated these days..still could be a lot worse...we could be punting away 😮 stay strong friend and enjoy your golf though some high factor sun cream maybe required 🙂
Hi Jeff.
Sorry to see the ex has done a flit with your lad. Great to see that domestic strife does not cause you to have any gambling thoughts. I see Gull hit 5 years gamble free the other day and i expect you to be just as successful.
I've not played Rhos on Sea. In fact i do not think i have ever played in Wales at all. I've got Nefyn on a 'to do' list before the end of the year though.
Onwards and upwards Jeff.
Hi Jeff, sorry to hear of your troubles with your wife. I'm having issues at the moment. She thinks I don't appreciate her enough....which I struggle with. Wouldn't it be great if we could understand how they are thinking? Anyway, enough of my issues...I hope you can get yourself to wembly for the cup final. It should be a classic. All the best Russ
hi jeff
great acheivement on your progress.i see you actualy still watch the horse racing---no problem there--you can use it to your advantage.
take the bet money you would normaly put on bookies/or poker ---for that day---put it in a savings account--cash isa---it will slowly build up to over the weeks/months/years.
its better to have the an actual building society book----to keep on you--by your side---you can look at---when you get the urge or weakness to bet.
ive done it for 3 years--changed my life.my story is simular to yours.
all the best
Hi All
Thanks again for posting on my diary.
No news yet on seeing my son.Im sure things will change.
Blackcab its always nice to hear from someone like yourself who is further on in your recovery. It reminds me it can be done. You say our stories are similar.Well even more so than you first thought as i do what you have suggested already m8 and you are so right. It does help me not to bet.I now have money in the bank, which is something i never had whilst i gambled.I am really happy for you that your life has changed.Mine is also better and i think will continue to improve.Once again thank you all for your posts Jeff.
Tnx 4 the post jeff.
.I hope you are doing well in your recovery..
.It is nice to look through your diary and see some unfamiliar faces that I have not had the opportunity to meet....
Take care.

Jeff - was just checking in on all those who have offered me such great support so far and finally got down to your diary on page 3!! I suppose you don't need to post so much these days, I am still in the early stages and feel I have to post everyday to keep myself on the straight and narrow.
Hope things are well and you enjoy a great weekend of football.

Hi Jeff.
Just popping by to say thanks for the customary 6 points and to offer my congratulations on your qualification for the champs league.
If i had told you a few years back when City dropped 2 divisions that you would be in the Champs League a few years later, you would have called the men in white coats!
I've a sneaky feeling for Stoke at the weekend though mate!
All the best.
Hi Jeff.
Glad to see that my sneaky feeling for Stoke was wrong! I hope you enjoyed your day mate. I think that Fa Cup win is just reward for all the hard work you have put in on the diaries over the last 18 months.
Well done pal.
Affected by gambling?
