I just think of one thing whenever I think about the fact that I could possibly go back to controlled gambling.

"One tiny, tiny bet away from disaster."

Us CGs simply cannot go back!

Cheers for the post Jeff.

I'm so proud of what you have achieved for the past 666 days. I'm not sure that i could be where i am now without others like you showing me that it really could be done.

I'm still taking Everton for 6 points off City this season though mate!

Hi Jeff,

Just a quick thank you for the post on my new diary. You've done so well to get to 666 days, you've got to be very proud of yourself, it takes so much effort, hard work and determination! Which isn't easy sometimes when coping with every day life as well.

It's been an eye-opener, the 105 days i referred to in my diary was along side you as we started on the same day, if only i hadn't slipped though and stayed strong like you.

Massive well done mate, you really deserve this.

Take care,

Jimmy

Good to hear from you jeff and thanks for your kind words. You and the likes of stumped, wp, seano were people I looked up to when I first came on here. Examples of what could be achieved. I thank you for that. When are Man City going to start playing like a team....the league will be your's if they do! Roll on two years. Russ

Those number of days is great, Jeff, and keep at it mate.

Sorry but I can't bring myself to mention that number as it has horrible memories for me.

But those memories are firmly in the past!

Onwards and upwards!

Hi Jeff,

Thanks for your post on my diary.I also feel we have alo in common. What you said is absolutely right about football betting. You have made me realise that it shall be better to watch the match without a bet anyway because, as you rightly pointed out,i did miss alot of the action in the match as i was, ike you concentrating on only one player to score 1st etc.

Thank you buddy as you have just opened my eyes to yet another reason why gambling is a big no no.

Heres to a gamble free, enjoyable weekened.

Have a good one my friend.

Kindest regards

Steven

Hi All

I had a phone call yesterday from a work colleague. He knows about my past ,and he is still a gambler himself.

He rung me to ask me to wish him luck and watch the next race on tv .I wont go into the bet too much but he had layed out £200 in singles and doubles on the 2 big races yesterday taking early bird prices.his first won at 14-1 and his second he took at 20-1 i watched the second race.I could feel the addrenalin building up inside me as his horse came to challenge it was as if i was betting on it.

The horse won and my addrenelin levels dropped straight away.My m8 phoned me and he was chuffed to bits.I was so happy for him but i cant help thinking how long will it last.

I myself have kept my head firmly above water and i am under no illusion, that if it were my bet it would have been given back to the bookies. What was nice though was hearing someone had taken money from the bookies over £10,000 infact ,but i fear it is just a loan.It hasnt changed the way i feel about betting.I too must be over £10,000 better off over the last 2 years without gambling, without the rollercoaster effect. Thanks all Jeff.

And I know that I WILL be well over £10000 better off in the next couple of years WHEN I stay gamble free.

Like you, I also fear that his £10000 will go down the drains very soon.

Gambling makes us CGs (or ex CGs) greedy, unfortunately. We just do (or did!) not know when to stop.

But I was so pleased with myself that I did not get over excited when I heard about his winnings. I think that I am now at the stage when I will feel nothing if I was presented with a winning cheque of £10000. I would much rather work hard to save that amount of money.

All the best,

GT

Jeff without sounding big heeded im a bit like you these days and Dont have anything gamble wise to report on my own diary. Sayin that the yellow card i received on here kinda knocked the wind oot my sails. However i do still read at regular intervals to blow the cobwebs away as we BOTH know we are only one bet away from disaster. I will Also be back on your diary in a fortnight for obvious reasons. Take care mate we can and are doing this 😉
